I understand where draymond is coming from, your whole career you’re playing to make the 8 spots for the playoffs but the league pretty much lowered the bar to make it. To players it honestly doesn’t feel deserved because it’s always been 8 spots for the entire nba and the history of it.

Normally I'd be clowning these talking heads. We know that is not all he said but despite claiming that he's motivated to win every game we know that just isn't true. The last few seasons have been very instructive about exactly how often Dray is motivated. The simple answer is he frequently doesn't care all that much at the moment and the way the team is constructed and being coached I can't say I blame him. I'm a dubs fan but the idea that everything will be fine once Klay returns is some absolute BS. Joe Lacob needs to publicly apologise for his "light years ahead" comment because it wasn't true then and it isn't true know. The rest of the league has well and truly caught up to Golden State.

Truth be told he's not wrong theres no motivation for play in games that just means you're playing for the 7th/8th seed which is still a first round exit. Dubs aren't winning a chip this year anyway and Dray knows it and why he made that statement, in fact the best thing that could happen to them is NOT making the playoffs bc they could possibly have TWO lottery picks(Minnys pick). Also even if Klay comes back they're still not a threat to the Lakers they'll just be better. Only real chance the Dubs have to win the chip next year is if they make a big move for a superstar/All star+ player to pair with Steph, Klay and Dray which is going to mean moving Wiggins AND a combo of Wiseman, their draft picks and other young pieces(Poole, Paschall, Mannion, etc)
