I think this is definitely driven by the current release drought, but hey it’s not my opinion

  1. Full-on simulators are one thing, drive your tractor and fly your plane if you love that shit, but when newer action, fantasy or whatever games try to be part-time simulators too for the sake of realism it often just sucks

  2. I understand some people can’t tolerate it, but I think red dead 2 deserves a partial pass because that detail in animation does serve a world building / sense of place purpose.

I’m playing mgs phantom pain for one final time before toilet realm forever, the scrolling through base menus and development items and waiting for those things to finish based off some botched in game timer is something that burns me way way harder.

  3. Developers are too focused on things like making Abby's sex scene look real than making sure these miserable games are actually fun to play. Remember when games were fun back in the day? Now it's 👏 -$70 all day.

  4. You don't even need to be janky to be fun to control. Feels like a lot of games these days are made for that "I play games for the story" crowd.

  5. I’d much rather a character feel sharp and precise to control, than feel sluggish coz he has to touch every wall or step over every rock

  6. "Fun" is a highly subjective and abstract concept. What you find fun someone else might not. And a game doesn't need to be conventionally "fun" to be an enjoyable or valuable experience to someone.

  7. All credibility goes out the window once he starts talking trash on red dead 2. Going to need some time before I can hear another one of his takes. I love Aris and his streams but we’re going to have to agree to disagree on that one. Rd2 is 🐐

  8. That's just one point of many others. Video games nowadays have a design philosophy which are more catered towards a casual audience than people who want to actually play. Most of their features nowadays are either big cinematic cutscene or outright elements which are only there to waste your time
