When comparing Cyberpunk 2077 to CD Projekt RED’s earlier success, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it’s easy to see how the latter trumps the former’s immersion. It’s a shame since the developer touted this to be a much deeper role-playing experience and even “that one last, big, exceptional looking title” for previous-gen hardware. But what if we compare it to Red Dead Redemption 2, the current benchmark in open world immersion, regardless of console generation?

Well, obviously Red Dead Redemption 2 wins out but it’s still fun to see all the ways that it immerses the player and where Cyberpunk 2077 falls short. Let’s take a look at 10 ways how Red Dead Redemption 2 destroys Cyberpunk 2077 as far as world immersion is concerned.

  1. Why does everything always have to ''dESTROYYY'' the other,…. christ. That is how it is these day's right? Other thing is good or bad. Wrong or right. The best or the worst.. The hero or the vilan. You either SUCK or are awesome. And one game has to ''destroy'' the other game by doing things better…. ?? I mean you can even make a whole list of things Cyberpunk does better then red dead 2.
For example red dead 2 is way to easy. No difficulty mode. You can just press a slow motion button en shoot everyone in the face. There is no challenge at all. The weapons are boring and pointless cause again its way to easy. The enemies: Guy with a gun.. THATS IT, that is every enemy in the game. Guy with a gun, or a wolf or bear who attacks you.

  2. RDR2 is a game much better than this Cyberjunk ever can be. For the next time less advertising and more development CDPR and maybe you will make some decent game again.

  3. I still don't understand the amount of hate that RDR2 gets from some gamers. I love GTA (have been playing since the original came out on PS1) but RDR2 was simply breathtaking. I still play it, even after the many hours I put into it.

  4. Red Dead Redemption 2 destroys every open world game for the next couple of years. It’s so detailed and ahead of it’s time than no other open world game that comes out now will ever match the level of quality that RDR2 has. Only until a couple more years from now will any other open world game even come close, and by then Rockstar would have already released GTA6 which will set everything else back another 5-6 years

  5. I played rdr2 for 2 years straight, absolutely love it. I was hoping cyberpunk would break that streak as something better BUT, it sucks. Even glitches aside, the gameplay sucks, the story sucks, the acting sucks, the characters suck. They sat around for nearly a decade to make a giant disaster of a game. The ambition exceeded their capabilities. Obviously, I couldn’t make a video game myself, but if rdr2 could be made and be extremely awesome I don’t see why the same effort couldn’t have been put in to do the same with cyberpunk

  6. Clearly the author is trying to play on a current gen console to have such hate for Cyberpunk and such a hard-on for RDR2. Played on a PC, Cyberpunk is excellent. The things pointed out in the video like the NPC's schedules are absurd. Cyberpunk made successful the feeling of a busy, full city that's alive. When you only have 5 NPCs to keep track of instead of a few hundred in sight, it's a hell of a lot easier. RDR2 on PC is horrendous. It crashes (a lot more than Cyberpunk), the controls are absurd (5-6 button presses to draw and shoot your gun? Seriously?), and the NPCs do janky stuff regularly like falling through the floor. Is Cyberpunk perfect? No, it has issues like all normal launches. They never should have tried to release it on the current consoles, period. That was their only serious mistake. The rest is the media trying to looking for clickbait for non-news. But comparing it to RDR2 is simply absurd and mismatched. I tried to like RDR2 really, really hard. But the issues were so bad. It was the most absolutely horrible, half-assed attempt at a port to PC. It was so bad I finally just gave up and uninstalled the game, it was so frustrating. One of the worst PC ports ever, flat out. And it had bugs still at that point, and that was significantly after launch. And remember, that's moving a game to a significantly more powerful system (console to PC).

  7. It's funny this is the second video I've seen comparing Red Dead to cyberpunk and the reason it's funny is because I was playing cyberpunk when it came out going in totally blind since I avoided all pre-release hype and trailers and the first thing I thought was what the hell is this garbage this can't even match up with red dead two which I hadn't played in like a year so I went back to play it just the compare the AI routines and I wound up getting sucked back into the world of that game and I've been playing it non-stop ever since for the last 2 weeks so I guess I can thank cyberpunk for making me go back and actually play Red Dead 2 the right way and appreciate it for what it is it is an absolute masterpiece of a game and it won't be topped until Rockstar makes its next open world game. The fact that CD projekt Red thought they could even compete on this level is laughable.

  8. All I can think about is why the heck are you using mouse and keyboard. It ruins the immersion with jerky movement. Also the comparison is dum IMHO. Any sane person us already aware about Cyberpunk's flaws. It's like comparing Minecraft with Uncharted.

  9. When Red Dead 2 came out all the usual whining nannys like Jim Sterling complained that the Bounty System and extreamly intricate interation systems was bad and ruined the game. But really the game is just so far ahead of its time that these peoples tiny little brains cant comprehend just how amazing these thing are.
