  1. I wonder if Duke is more… talented than Miranda as he is openly aiding Ethan Winter in this whole time, in the village controlled by Miranda.
He is like selling fire weapons to the revolution army just next to the backdoor of the military camp, with a decent smile and causal like selling food for picnic.
And he is unharmed at all time. He must has some fantastic skillset to do that.

  2. I like that when asked what is he, Duke says 'Not even I can answer that.' Duke's origins will always be shrouded in mystery, keeping him enigmatic, the man who appears to to the right customer at just the right time.

  3. Pienso que los mercantes ayudan a los protagonistas para que estos destruyan el mercado de armas biológicas y así prevalezca el mercado de armas de fuego y ellos serían millonarios, solo es una teoría

  4. It's gotta be death, I mean he can either let this one man die or supply him up so he can send 4 "unkillable" souls among countless minions to him which are probably worth something being all corrupted and magical nd shyt, just a guess.

The last line between him and ethan kinda foreshadows that ethan can't go back to *his normal life*, maybe he's not dead but alive somehow. And he did say that he owes him, he gotta pay him back before dying right?

  6. Man the duke seems so unappreciated. He’s such a bro to Ethan even though he doesnt even know him. Sells him the stuff he needs, guides him on the right path, cooks and eats with him, saves Ethan after getting attacked by Myranda. Im glad Ethan had one bro to help him through the village.

  7. If anyone wanna know a nice easteregg: "The Merchant just told me on my 2nd playthrough that one of his colleagues always liked to say "What are you buying?"" So the Merchant from RE4 was his partner^^

  8. If Resident Evil 4 ever gets a remake, they should make The Merchant’s character be like Duke’s. Make him more relevant to the story and give him more character, instead of just him being there to only buy items or weapons.

  9. This guy is a total bro. Although he asks for payment, hes always super friendly and polite, sometimes even helping Ethan, even if it doesn't benefit him.

And the final scene of Ethan and Duke in the carriage was really heartbreaking, the way Duke says goodbye, it's like he always knew what was going to happen, and is bidding farewell to a loyal friend
