About Video Game Sophistry:
Video Game Sophistry is an opportunity to celebrate the creators and the artistry found in Video Games. I believe that Games are the most effective medium from experiencing another world, and another way to live. Expect to see a series of videos showcasing the narratives hidden in every game, interviews with game developers, along with our bench mark weekly podcast, Dialogue Wheel.

Andy Borkowski started this program nearly 10 years ago and, in that time, it has changed from a simple YouTube show, to a radio show, a TV show and now once again a YouTube destination. Welcome to VGS.

  1. For as much crap Ethan got from re7 haters for lacking personality this game redeemed him perfectly.

Although it's sad to see that this was the conclusion of his story, but he won't be forgotten as the Harry Mason a video games. A man who had gone through Hell itself and looking death straight in the face all to save their child. You cannot play the game and get to this ending without feeling a little water eyed.

Even Miranda, evil that she was, you could understand what drove her to something like this. And the fight doesn't feel like a human and monster fighting for survival, but two different parents fighting to have their child back.

The game may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it feels a hell of a lot better than a certain game that you can feel trying too hard to jerk your emotions around every step of the way.

  2. Resident evil works in trilogies. T-virus saga. Plagas-Uroboros saga. Now the mold. It makes me wonder how they will wrap things up in 9 and if Rose aged quickly or if the next game will just be Chris taking on the BSAA while protecting Mia and Rose. Which if so, we may not see Rose for a long time. This series has aged characters real time. So Chris will be 51 and rose 3-4 years old.

  3. i’m not gonna sit here and think Ethan, the man that never dies, just went out with a literal bang. I’m not gonna sit here and think that he’s gonna dissapear just like Leon did. Plus this is Resident Evil, who’s to say something RE like didn’t happen.

  4. I loved and enjoyed RE VIII but two things I hated about the ending, Ethan did ALL the work when Chris hardly comes around during the game and Ethan dies? like where the hell were you, Chris? Calling Ethan a civilian and whatnot getting in the way. Ethan swept through the 4 lords like B Rabbit in 8 mile.

  5. So resident evil developers wtf where u thinking of killing off eathin winters. Like that. This and 7. Where ur best games so far wtf. Second. If it was the mold has not truly dead beeing he can regen mold from the mold at the castle from rose. Honestly the ending is a let down 3 stars only because it had a good story other then eathin dying

  6. I dont ever like timeskips. Especially when you take into fact that this is taking place around late 2030s. Either that or she's maturing like milk again.

Jumping ahead in time in my opinion can be a big hazard to the potential stories you could have. Also sorry for this but we've had some actually return despite being turned into ash and rocks so Ethan could just as well have returned. But if it's him in the distance then this still takes place way too far into the future.
