  1. The rest of the walkthrough parts is coming up in 4K! This is for those of you who want a full walkthrough in one video. Capcom did it again, RE Village is such a great game. I highly recommend anyone watching to buy and play it for yourself if you can.

  3. This is a really long opinion of the game, just needed to get it out of my system.

I really don’t like ethans dialogue in this game. He’s talking to himself in a way thats too unrealistic and too helpful to clueless people that it feels too scripted and just bad. When Ethan talks, I question what the decision was to make Ethan say that which brings me out of the immersion of the game. I’d rather Ethan say something stupid, relatable, unrelatable, or even something that would make me think he’s an a**. I’d rather Ethan have more personality than just some hero looking for his daughter, he can be both loved for his commitment for his daughter but still have a douchebag side, just saying. The pacing of this game is also just way too slow. The game doesn’t give me a reason to care about anything else. Too much questionable things have happened in the beginning that makes me wonder when the game will acknowledge it and answer some questions only for the game to venture out further and further from that, only to raise even more and more. As a good example of pacing I would like to take a look at re7 real quick. You’re thrown into the game with a quick intro explaining that Ethans wife has been missing for 3 years and now with the location, you set out to find her in a creepy house and almost immediately do you find her, and just as you’d think the game would be over, you’re trapped into the house and suddenly your wife is attacking you and the family who lives there takes you hostage. Your objective is clear and you spend time working your way through the labyrinth of a house to escape with many obstacles, puzzles, boss fights, and other small quarrels to keep you into the game. Of course you could say being in the house somewhat the majority of the game was slow paced, but you could never experience the whole thing at first, to unlock a certain area you see early on, you have to had venture on in the house to find missing parts, keys, or items to help you unlock that area and get you closer to your objective. I was never confused, lost, or questioned the game too much as it didn’t do anything too little or too much. With re8, there’s little to no explanation in the beginning, no clear objective, and there’s too much exploration that takes you further into figuring out what is happening. Ethan finds a village, almost gets killed, finds a church, almost gets killed, and it eventually just boiled down into a monotonous pattern of confusing exploration into accidentally wandering into a scripted event (i.e Ethan almost getting killed by the wolves, finding the surviving villagers, the church scene, the running from traps scene, vampire scene, etc.) all the while he’s still concerned for his daughter who he thinks is in the castle for some reason but for all he knows Chris could still be with her. The puzzles are also super lame because of how short and simple they are (god of war 1 had better puzzles). The exploration is boring, as I said it’s pointless wandering into event into wandering, but while you’re wondering you find items that you use to unlock future areas, which make those areas feel too easy, and that’s every future area, so every area is easy and mindless and not memorable. This really isn’t a game breaking issue or anything, this is more of just a strong dislike towards this one thing, I really hate how the camera acts when Ethan vaults over a fence or window or something. The camera quite literally jumps up and down a small inch. I really can’t imagine anyone keeping such a straight head while vaulting over something. It’s possible but unrealistic and again takes me out of the immersion of the game. It’s really silly in my opinion. This game just doesn’t make me feel like I should be struggling where I should be, and with how ethans dialogue is, it’s too patronizing. I really have no other complaints, I think the combat, graphics, items, characters, enemies, weapons, and story is just fine. I don’t think the story is good or great or anything, but I don’t think it’s bad or terrible, could be better but it could’ve been worse.

  4. Ethan's hands have been chomped on, hooked, CUT OFF then reattached as if it never happened…and still managed to keep his wedding band.

And then 9 hours later the game ends. Awesome stuff!
