Resident Evil Village: Capcom HATES Ethan’s Hands

SPOILER ALERT! Resident Evil Village is very mean to Ethan Winters. More specifically, every enemy is very mean to his hands. Whether it be Lady Dimitrescu, lycans, or any other creature, Ethan’s digits just can’t catch a break. Let’s revisit some of the greatest hits.

In Resident Evil Village, also known as Resident Evil 8, main character Ethan Winters is looking for his daughter Rose in the titular European Village. As Ethan, you must explore a castle filled with vampires, a village filled with Lycans, and many more enemies new to the series. Resident Evil 7 was Capcom’s first mainline Resident Evil to use a first-person perspective for gameplay, and they’ve kept the view for Resident Evil Village.

  1. Ethan lost his left hand in Resident Evil 7 and eventually brought it back in place. Ethen lost his right hand in Resident Evil 8 and eventually brought it back in place. Ethan Winters has brought a whole new meaning to "catch these hands."

  2. Welll ya. Its a first person game and ethans hands is like the only part of his body that you see 99% of the time so when an injury is gonna be inflected on the character, it makes sense to have it to his hands….if u like at injuries to characters in the rest of the RE games, it's all over the body because it isn't first person. Having all cut scenes be in first person and not showing ethans body compared to all the other entries to the franchise, it makes sense.
