Resident Evil Village Demo: PS5 vs. PS4 Performance Preview

The Resident Evil Village Demo for the PS5 and PS4 was released this last week and pushes the PlayStation 5 with features like ray-tracing, HDR, and a targeted framerate of 45 FPS with all of those features turned on. Taking a look at the Resident Evil 8 Gameplay Demo on PS5, PS4 Pro, and base PS4 it’s revealing to see what they’ve already managed to accomplish in this Performance Preview ahead of the full release. NX Gamer explains what they’ve done to hit these targets. Resident Evil Village gameplay manages to impress across the board as Village hits a lot of the notes fans come to expect from the franchise in this early look at RE8 gameplay.

  2. Re died at the end of 5. They're just putting anything out and slapping the re name on it .. sad. Stop supporting this crap and maybe we can get a new series that actually makes sense

  3. As someone who can hardly see the difference between 2160p and 1080p, I will happily play with performance mode on my PS4 Pro. The game runs MUCH more consistently that way anyways.

  4. It's impressive that the base PS4 can run the game at reasonable framerates considering the hardware. I'm interested in what the Series S can do when it comes to this game if it manages to do Ray Tracing at 1080P then for the price you can't complain.

  5. Who cares. At least we are getting the chance to play it because getting a ps5 is almost impossible so guys enjoy the game on your base ps4 and ps4 pro because it looks good.

  6. I've subscribed specifically because you hired Michael (NX Gamer). I've been telling people for years to subscribe to this guy. I love digital foundry too but NXG is just as good and truly deserves more recognition and respect. I wish he liked Crysis as much as DF does though LOL
