  1. I mean if Rose does truly have Eveline’s powers with the mold which he is linked to, it would technically be possible for Rose to use her abilities to manifest a “clone”/copy of him with his mind or a replicated Ethan’s mind. Even Miranda mentioned using the mythocyete or however its spelt to have him be “reborn” by cataloging his blood and recreating him. As Rose already shares his blood and genes, she’d technically already have that tie to him.

  2. It's Ethan. No mistake. It's no mistake he came back from something that happened to him. It's no mistake Mia says he is special and she needed to tell Chris something. We will get DLC maybe

  3. I feel he could be alive for one simple reason, the ritual to being eve back failed meaning that rose has some sort of power over the mold and is possibly a branch of the megamycete meaning that Ethan can come back, I also don’t know how Ethan could go so long without knowing he was mold at all, another thing is that they haven’t had Ethan grow at all, every other character seems to have more growth than Ethan.

  4. Ok Ethan is a mold you literally fight the final boss without a heart what I think is going to happen is he did survive just BARELY though and because of how much shit he went through getting injured in the game it’s would make sense that if he could survive he would need an extreme long amount of time to heal and another theory to back that is when he does start to decay it’s only parts of him not the full thing

  5. So it’s definitely hinted at that roses powers are related to the mold, so if she still has powers after the end of the game, then some form of the mold must still exist. Perhaps it contains Ethens essence in the same way it did Evelyns

  6. ….Rose even says, when douche fucker agent says "You're a lot like him you know…", her response is "more than you think..".. I think that has something to do with Ethan's appearance at the end there…. Maybe Rose summoned his form so that she could see him, who knows.. But the vehicle definitely stops at the end… I think that's how 9 is going to start… Rose summons Ethan's form to freak out the driver, causing him to stop once they get far enough away from the sniper that they had posted, and then she fucks up the driver and makes a break for it, and that's 9, trying to evade "blue" umbrella..

  7. he’s 100% alive
(if you want to completely assure yourself of his return I recommend reading this entire comment)
he got his heart ripped out, came back in about a couple hours.
took beatings capable of killing anyone no matter how strong they are.
    he’s in the end cutscene.
the whole point of revealing him as entirely mold that takes a human form is that he literally can’t die.
Rosemary isn’t dead (she would die if he died because she’s mold too and when the person who controls the mold below them dies, the mold below them also dies, he’s obviously above mother miranda since he was able to kill her and all of her “children” as well as the fact that he is the better version of the mold. He didn’t die when he killed Eveline because he took her place as the more powerful mold because he can’t die and she was able to be killed, that’s why the mold is still in louisiana and Jack Baker and Zoey Baker didn’t die after Eveline did. The mold in the village is barebones and hadn’t been tampered with and the mold he is made of is improved and is able to create life while the mold in the village is only able to restore and improve life)
the part where it says the “father’s story is finished” that could just mean it’s the end of his story as the father of rosemary since when he comes back she’s an adult and he is now done with his duties as a father.
when he got killed by Jack Baker it only took him a couple hours to come back, when he got his heart ripped out it also only took him a couple hoursit’d make sense if it took him years to come back when he was blown to smithereens (which is mold that he can regrow from probably taking more time to completely regrow himself than restore himself, he was calcifying when he killed mother miranda but even Jack Didn’t die when he calcified and Ethan is obviously 1000 times stronger since he is purely mold and seems to be able to retain his true form instead of mutating into a bigger but ultimately less powerful form like the bakers and Eveline do which when they do this allows for them to be killed instead of continuing to revive themselves)
Capcom refused to show his face even in his final moments which makes for a good “doing them justice” return for the character.
and lastly… he prolly wants his fuckin jacket back

  8. the first time I saw the car scene at the end something wasn't feeling right, I thought it was sort of frozen frame of the car going away but then I noticed the leaves still moving and the car fully stop.
Now, how about this? maybe Ethan will turn into some kind of non-corporeal guide, just as he saw Evelyn when he was diyng, maybe Rose can see him in the same manner as the baker's but in a more subtle keep-it-hidden way, or something similar as what Happened to Jack Baker on the "not a hero" dlc

  9. Duke said he can't go back to his old world. Most probably ethan become evelyn's new vessel? Since eve showed on his subconscious mind before miranda fight. So i'm guessing ethan become the new evelyn

  10. … How exactly do you move the camera around in the ending cutscene? Because AFAIK, cutscenes disable most photo mode options. And I just tried to use photomode in the way described, and couldn't.

  11. Well as soon as Miranda picked Rose up out of the black ooze her left eye bled and she stated she was losing her power and then… Rose's power was like some anti mold. After the battle Ethan grabs Rose and immediately starts to fall apart. More than likely he is still alive in some capacity. I'm betting he'll show up as a mindless or amnesiac antagonist in the next game. We'll get a touching family reunion after Rose saves/restores him or his memories. She'll say something along the line of "Dad I'm gonna save you" and he'll reply "You already have." He will then die a good heroic death saving Rose again and who knows… a heartbroken bitter Mia ,if she's still alive that is, may join him in death saying their farewells to Rose giving her the strength to beat the big baddie. Just so cookie cutter quiche.

  12. Perhaps they just used the character model as filler and the person they pick up was the person the agent told to stand down when Rose confronted him. I just think that it would be weird for her to visit his grave only to pick him up down the road. Idk, just would seem pretty weird but its Capcom, so who knows. 🤔🤷‍♂️

  13. The BSAA are now using BOWs as Direct Action Troops, at the very least. Chris seemed very disturbed by this and for good reason. Perhaps this is why Rose has been recruited, presumably by Chris’s organization. She clearly has some type of special abilities due to the Mutamycete.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ethan is still alive, having watched over Rose from afar as she grew up and not trusting that he wasn’t somehow a danger to her and Mia. Perhaps he was in a state of hibernation as his body recovered from the explosion if it didn’t kill him. It’s even possible that the BSAA recovered his remains and somehow revived and regrew him from the spores of the mutamycete to use as an asset? The Megamycete was said to retain the memories or consciousness of those it absorbed, and Ethan could have been absorbed before the explosions fully neutralized the organism. So if even one portion survived then so could he?

Maybe this is the urgent mission Rose is needed for that was mentioned during the post credit cutscene? A new mold outbreak somewhere with no apparent cause that needs investigating by Rose who has intimate knowledge? Perhaps the BSAA’s BOWs have been taken over somehow? Father vs Daughter in RE9?

The bottom line for me is that I definitely think it was him at the end. I almost missed it and had to do a double take when I saw that figure appear, but I do believe it was Ethan.

I believe Ethan will make an appearance in the next game and surely the mold will as well in some form. I get the sense that the BSAA’s use of BOWs will largely be involved. That was a huge deal when one of the Wolf Hounds/Hound Wolf’s mentioned it. It really surprised me that the BSAA would do such a thing and makes me think back to Umbrella (of course) and even the FBC’s use of BOWs through a proxy (Veltro). Granted the BSAA seemed to be using the BOWs for a noble purpose but we’ve also seen how easily BOWs can get loose, out of hand, or even taken over by someone with a lust for power, cause or ideology.

  14. Ethan morreu e eu nem vi qual o rosto dele, talvez eu não tenho procurado muito bem nos vídeos de gameplays ou então talvez a capcom nem mostrou o rosto dele nos jogos…
    Ele disseram que teria a trilogia do Ethan mas ele já morreu no 8 '-' nem lançaram o RE 9 e ele já morreu sem eu nem saber como era o rosto dele ;-;

  15. Ethan will almost certainly be in Resident Evil 9, but I don't think he's still alive. I think Ethan will appear in Rose's mind, the same way Eveline appears in Ethan's mind.

  16. I am sure he will come back if enough people ask the dev team how his right hand was cut off clean he put it back again like it was nothing. Then the heisenberg scene when he captured him. So yeah maybe he will come back

  17. Eveline was created in a lab from a genetically altered version of the megamycte, which is why she aged uncontrollably. She needed treatments to keep her aging normal. Rose was born naturally, with no genetic tampering, and is part human.

I think Ethan has always been there and Rose knows it, because she knows she's exactly like him. I think he exists in her mind, the same way Eveline existed in his mind.

  18. His story is done. It was a great send off for his character and he went out with purpose and agency (unlike other characters from other series… errr Joel). To bring him back I don’t think advances the story at all.

  19. Crazily enough people have to consider that jack never did ACTUALLY and spiritually contact Ethan, that the mold just embeds non supernatural footprints of hallucinations and that rose actually is coping with these visions.
