RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE IN VR // Resident Evil Village VR Gameplay is CRAZY // Will it VR?

A Resident Evil Village VR mode was on the top of every VR owners wishlist, Resident Evil 7 worked so well in VR on PSVR that we all hoped the same approach would carry over to Resident Evil Village & perhaps a Resident Evil Village PC VR mode would be made available. However with mere days until launch it seems like the dream of official Resident Evil Village VR gameplay is fading fast which means it’s up to Vorpx to step up & save the day for fans who have grown accustomed to playing in VR. In this episode of Will it VR I’ll be diving into the Resident Evil Village demo & seeing just how well it works with Vorpx to find out if it’s playable, if it’s comfortable & what I hope will be changed by the time we reach release day. Enjoy this Resident Evil Village VR demo gameplay & don’t forget to hit subscribe for more Will it VR tests & VR videos…

I think we all just want to see the big lady in VR, I can’t think of many people who wouldn’t want to see Lady Dimitrescu up close & personal in a fully 3D VR environment, sadly she only makes a brief appearance in the Resident Evil Village demo gameplay but there’s plenty to dig into here despite that. Performance of Resident Evil Village VR / Resident Evil 8 VR is actually pretty solid, in my video test my performance took a hit because I was running so many applications on the PC (Resi at high settings, Vorpx & OBS to capture the footage), this meant my framerate in the Village section was a little on the low side (between 55-70 on average). Performance in the castle section was far better however sitting at around 90fps for the majority of my session. When OBS isn’t running both sections run at a far higher & more stable framerate.

To achieve this Resident Evil Village VR / Resident Evil Village Vorpx experience I used a profile for one of the recent DX12 games, Death Stranding seemed to offer the best Z3D effect but you can use Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn & Red Dead 2 if you want to experiment with the results. The biggest issue currently that impacts the enjoyment of Resident Evil Village in VR is the low FOV, without an FOV slider the game feels quite claustrophic in VR & I’m hoping we see some mods to change this when the game launches this week. This video was captured using an Oculus Quest 2 via link cable, it’s recommended that you use wireless connection for better image quality (virtual desktop or Oculus link) but in this instance my Quest 2 was low on battery & I used an Oculus link cable to run these tests.

  1. NIce one BB…played the PS4 demo of this and it was fab, played and looked lovely on ps4 pro. Didn't realise there was a pc version demo on steam until I saw this pop up on your channel, so cheers for this mate. Played quite well on my recently newly built gaming pc but switching ray tracing on tanked the performance somewhat. I only have a 6gb Nvidia RTX 2060 , everything else in my new pc is up there, of course trying to get a better gpu at the mo is nigh on impossible unless you buy one at a ridiculous price on ebay or gumtree etc. I can wait. Will get this on PS4 πŸ˜‰

  2. I would love to play in VR… if they ever made the VR available on PlayStation, I’d be all over this! I definitely don’t have a good enough pc for this πŸ˜‚ also the split inventory system was in revelations, or at least the key items being split off are.

  4. Brown. It's all so very brown. BRVR. I thought we'd got beyond this part of the colour spectrum. Still, looks tasty! Tasty like yummy brown chocolate covered in brown chocolate sauce on yummy cinnamon brown toast.

  6. I have become a fan. I enjoy your videos and have purchased a couple of games you have played and or given instruction for…Vorpx being one. I wish it worked better on more games though.
