Resident Evil Village [Part 3] Stronghold, Heisenberg's Factory, Chris Redfield, Final Boss, Ending

A commentated Let’s Play / Playthrough / Walkthrough of Resident Evil Village, aka Resident Evil 8. I’ll be playing the game over a series of live streams, doing my first (kinda blind) run on Hardcore difficulty, followed by playing through The Mercenaries Mode, and finishing with a playthrough on Village of Shadows difficulty. Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. When BSAA captain Chris Redfield attacks their home, Ethan must once again head into hell to get his kidnapped daughter back. Enjoy~

  1. Alright, gonna repeat here what I wrote on Twitter (as there's no limit on how much I write here):

The final boss of RE 8 is in my oppinion one of the best final bosses in the RE series so far. She has tons of interesting attacks, mainly melee attacks but the way she attacks is different: like multiple claw strikes n a row in her normal form, the jump attack as a spider and the melee attack as a spider which you cannot block as she hits you from above, also the dive attack in her flying form. Aside from that she has these firey mold attacks in different variations which I love and she has a wave attack as well. The darkness phase is interesting and reminds me of Mergo's Wet Nurse (I honestly wonder if this boss was inspired by that Bloodborne boss, they are so similiar, though Miranda is way more interesting in terms of attacks). The fact that she switches between forms quickly near the end the fact that her three fireballs come way quicker at you (as she becomes a lot more aggressive) and the final bit where she grabs you and you need to shoot her a few more times are all things that make her incredibly fun, probably my favourite boss fight here.

I love the theme of her boss fight.

Finally I love the design. This final boss doesn't transform into a giant blob of flesh and eyes, an unidentifiable monstrosity, but she remains mostly human, while having some interesting aspects (the wings, the spider legs etc.). I don't know if anyone has said this yet but she has a lot of influences from Guillermo Del Toro's monsters.
