Well to put it straight:
Resident Evil Village is really good but not excellent.
I would rate it with a solid 7/10.
The gameplay mechanics of the RE engine isn't any special compared to RE7 but any slight improvement is welcomed, especially when this engine is very good already.
The inventory system, inspired from RE4, is a great highlight. It's way much better than RE7's, RE2R's and RE3R's. So Kudos to that!
The game let's you face different kinds of enemies, which is a strong point of this game. The more, the merrier.
The boss fight's ain't any special. They stick with the traditional boss fight's environments and conditions.
The 4 Lords are amazing, but a slight disappointment about Heisenberg. He should have got more cutscenes like Alcina Dimitrescu got. He wasn't much of a badass as portraid in the RE Village trailer. In my opinion, he was more like a static guy and not very active as Alcina was.
The fabulous, mysterious and outrageous Duke, the best merchant in RE universe, in my opinion. His way of talking and cool, makes him a great character of the RE saga. It would be amazing to see him back in a DLC, he is such a gentleman!
Mother Miranda as the final boss, didn't disappoint at all. Maybe a bit more cutscenes about her would have been preem but, hey, maybe a DLC about her is on the way, who knows?
Finally, Chris Redfield! He was the biggest surprise of the game. He looked like a fallen hero that became villain in the trailer but CAPCOM managed to twist our mind with such a great scenario about him shooting "fake" Mia Winters and trying to save Ethan by not letting the latter put himself in danger when many people thought he was genuinely going to be a villain. Kudos for that CAPCOM !
Overall, it's a great game ! Not a perfect one !
It's worth buying it !

I thought that was pretty good, not gonna lie.
I will say this capcom you made a very bland character in ethan winters, and somehow you made him into someone i was cheering for the whole game. This is by far my favorite game story wise.

Man, nowadays it's kind of sure that: If Chris is at any game of RE, some major character will die imminently – Was too soon for ethan die at this point. But well, he's already for 3 years – but he could live more to find a cure for the mold without beat him away.
Ethan is dead well then now we can move on to the next chapter like maybe back to the old days ? hopefully Capcom doesn’t ruined it again.
