There’s a lot to digest during the final hours of Resident Evil Village. So let’s get into the nitty gritty of all this, and explain exactly what went down, and the ripple effect it has on the rest of the series.
Resident Evil Village opens a huge can of moldy worms in its final hours that recontextualizes the entire franchise. It’s also an ending that leaves many cliffhangers to explore in the future.
Ethan Winters has been through a lot since his trek through the bayou in Resident Evil 7, rescuing his missing wife Mia from the Baker household. As it turned out, Mia was working for a crime syndicate known as The Connections, which were responsible for looking after the bioweapon known as Eveline. It was Mia’s job to be a caretaker for Eveline. Once Ethan and Mia escape the grasps of Eveline in the end of RE7, with the help of Chris Redfield, they’re put into hiding in a European village so The Connections cannot find them, and during that time, Ethan and Mia start a family with their daughter Rose. All was well, that is until Chris Redfield shows up and murders Mia, and kidnaps Rose. But that’s only the beginning of what this ending begins to explain.
In the above video, we dissect the motives behind Chris Redfield, and most importantly, the game’s antagonist Mother Miranda, and the impact she has on the game’s lore (which is very deep). We’ll also piece together how Umbrella Corporations fits into Village, and the ripple effect that has on its other games, as well as future ones. Also, is Lady Dimitrescu actually a vampire? Watch the video to find out.

I feel REALY bad for the bakers they where just some really chill cool people that got enffected
Chris shows up at the end or RE7 working for Blue Umbrella not the BSAA
Can’t believe he was dead dis whole time😔💔
Bruh Chris isn’t wit bsaa anymore he is working with blue umbrella I’m pretty sure he is on his own team lol and bsaa is kinda bad in re8 like that’s y he wants to after them at the very end
Ok so… Due to the end scenes… Is Resident Evil 9: biohazard academy the sequel to this game???
Well if Miranda wants to have a daughter so bad she could've just…. You know.. Bang
Vírus, parasite, mould now what would Will be alien, bacteria lovecraftian beings
this video is a lil out of context about a lot of stuff
Chris isn't with the BSAA in this didn't they go rotten in 6?
A cool RE:9 story would be playing as Rose while Mia attempts to bring Ethan back the same way Miranda tried to bring Eva back.
Question: why the fuck do you need to explain the pretty obvious ending?
Isn't miranda a mold herself? If so, that contradicts your statement about the mold being like a hard drive and everyone will know people who is affected by mold. Since miranda knows nothing about the bakers incident
We need Ada Wang to show up in DLC
I knew Chris wasn't no Villain but investigaitng Bio Weapon
Soo ethan bang mother miranda????
Can you imagine if Chris just told Ethan what was going on in the beginning at the front door. This would have been a totally different game.
I can't believe BSAA (EU Branch) use Zombies just like "GDA" from "Invincible" as their main grunts….what the hell are they thinking ?
Can we get a Jake muller story was up with that?
Why does chris in re7 looks different than chris in re8 🤔
Next re game will be about aliens. As they are the one that planted the megamycete i earth 😂
Was Ethan going to die anyways?? Or did his body give out because of the battle? Doesn’t really make sense considering it didn’t give out during the events of RE7
Thank you!!!! This was very helpful for context of everything.
Does everyone not gonna talk about that the graveyard ITS look like the same graveyard on resident evil 6 on lion's campain ending
Ethan is the figure walking towards the 4X4 at the end. If you break the camera during the cutscene it's clearly him.
I really hope they don't nerf Rose. Sure it'd be bad of she goes around molding people but I hope she'll be able to use similar powers to those of RE boss characters.
It's Leon, gotta be Leon.
Chris needs him, ya know.
I hope ethan somehow survived and is just waiting for the perfect moment to pop back up.
Ninja theory is cool
Resident evil 7 was scarier but this game has a way more interesting storyline and Mia is 👀
Bro, Jake is coming back in the next game. The next Resident Evil games are going too be focused on what the founders of umbrella were going after, making a race of humans better than what we already are. Rose, Jake, and Sherry Berkin are playing HUGE parts in the next games because of this.
Picked up on all that through playing but it's nice having all this info in one place, wonder if their will be DLC, can't remember if they announced 7 DLC before launch or not.
Sad to see Ethan go, he was a good character, but let’s be honest they are never going kill Chris or Leon, which I totally understand, but there just was no way to have to power leads like those guys. I’m very satisfied with his end and they shouldn’t bring him back this was a perfect send off
If Chris wanted to protect the Winters, maybe putting them right next door to Miranda's HQ wasn't the best idea
I wish this game was made 3rd person and play as Chris. This why I never played 7 and 8. I totally despise first person.
