  1. I remember feeling pressured to like Banjo Tooie because I really liked the first game and I knew everyone loved the sequel, I honestly did not enjoy it as much. I kept hoping the next level would be start to feel fun but eventually I just had to give up on it. I can't help but appreciate the effort and ambition that went into it, but I couldn't get into it for some reason.

  2. I don't know if pressure is the right term for me. There are definitely super fans of this game or that and I generally try them out if possible. But sometimes it's just not my bag. Donkey Kong Country is a good example. I should like it. I just don't. I love the Wii and Wiiu games though. Earthbound is a series I just can't get into. But luckily I got them cheap on the VC and maybe someday…

  3. I dont like pokemon games. Because I played fi al dantasy games first and they are just straight up better in many ways red blue was like a huge downgrade but similar genre. But I could imagine if I had tried pokemon first then I am sure I would have caught them all by then.

  4. I have the worlds niggest midlog. I literally have the FIRST call of duty on my hard drive fully installed since it was new through all my windows upgrades I never lost it and it still works and my save file is still about halfway through!

  5. I'm being pressured to play Earthbound but I know the commitment that comes with it. It is intimidating. Also, never was a big fan of Sonic games. I know… I know…

  6. Yeah, I feel the pressure everytime I dare to think New Super Mario Bros. U is my favourite game ever. We are people of culture, we all have to love Ocarina Of Time!… Right?… Right?!…

This reminded me that I don't like RPG's and I didn't care for Earthbound when I played it. Oh no! How am I ever going to pick up my reputation again?

  7. Personally I don't like 2D Mario games at all. I tried the first three (both the NES and SNES versions), as well as the DS one, but I really can't get into them.
A game that I first didn't like, but forced myself to play and then ended up liking it a lot is Ace Attorney 3. I played the first one and liked it, but I found the third one very boring and I abandoned the game after the first trial. One day I decided to play it again and after a while I really got into it.
Same for Zelda, I played ocarina of time and didn't even finish the first dungeon in 2017, then in 2020 I played it again and enjoyed it so much.

  8. I don't feel any pressure to like any game. My friends and I just have different tastes. And there are games that I'm reading a lot of praises for growing up, but when I played them, it just doesn't "click" with me. Examples are Earthbound and Chrono Cross. I played those recently and decided not finish. Those games are not bad in any way (that's why those are loved by many) it's just not immersing me. But I played Chrono Trigger a few months back. Finished it twice. First, just to play on my own. Next run is with a walkthru to check any secrets or easier way I missed. Great game.

  9. As a kid I got the pc game Wing Commander. But I expected a more action based videogame. After 30 minutes I was done because I just didn't like it. But I couldn't put it down because they paid a lot of money for it snd I asked for it myself. Now I'm older I have a midlog as big as the world. Colleagues try to pressure but I don't give a crap anymore. If I'm done, I'm done. Thanks for the content retro bird!

  10. Just like in your own situation, Chronotrigger is the game I'm pressured to play by myself. I did the same ting as you, played through half of the game and somehow lost the save for some reason I can't recall. Then we have Earthbound wich I feel both pressed to get, play and like! I'm sure I will do all three of those. A similar situation surrounds Terranigma…
    Well there's my "confession".
Great video and great content in this channel!
    Thanks!

  12. I have a question, what is considered retro? In my opinion the PS2 is considered retro because it's turning 21 years old this year, it can drink alcohol. The NES was considered retro during the 7th generation. It was 21 in 2006 (American release) and people had no problem considering it retro. Some people say the PS2 isn't retro because retro is more of an aesthetic with the PS2 having a graphical aesthetic more similar to modern games. However, if we use that argument, the PS2 will never be retro whether it's 21 or 40 years old. It's weird we draw this line in the sand with retro games.

  13. I did feel pressure to play Turn-Based RPGs, but now whenever I hear the term, I just shut my brain off. I played Final Fantasy VII for almost two hours and got bored. The only RPG that I like is probably Super Mario RPG, that one was good.

  15. I pressure myself to like RPGs but so far it doesn't work for me πŸ˜…
I prefer platformers, racing games, fighting games and bullet hell shooters more.
Actually I feel more pressure by liking some of the bad games like sonic 06, shadow the hedgehog and the sonic storybook games.

  16. You could do the flipside to this. Games you like that others don't. Not very retro but I like golden axe beast rider. Yes it doesn't play like the original but it is obviously part of the same series and ticks enough of my nostalgia boxes to get me reminiscent of the good ol' days while giving me a new challenge. And it's pretty short in comparison to some of the other 200 hour titles that came out around the same time.
