  1. I hate that so many scalpers use the mentality of "I'm just out here grinding to make some money" as the excuse of why they do it. Like, just because it's legal doesn't mean it isn't shitty. But no one cares for their fellow man anymore, everyone is in it for themselves nowadays and puts their middle finger up to the world.

  2. When the Switch was launched, I preordered at Bestbuy online. Soon after when I visit Gamestop, the Switch was ready to preordered there too. So I didn't need 2 Switch and gave it to one of the Mom and pop game store employee. All I ask is just a $10 in return. He got his Switch and I got mine plus gas money $10 for me. Beside I gave away a bunch of NES (40 physical games) games for free. No attachment attach. They know me by just passing through and sometime I rarely buy anything there. I just want company to talk to about video games and such.

  3. My mind keeps coming back to "Scalpers wouldn't exist if this scam didn't work". So also there's the idiots who perpetuate this by falling for it. Sure, they're victims, but they're still buying from these scumbags. You see a friend about to click confirm or is about to meet with someone to buy a $1000 PS5 or XBox Series X, you INTERVENE and INFORM!

  4. I don’t agree with you pat and Ian, scalpers post a price, if you don’t want to pay that price, you don’t have to, you move on, but there’s no need for these scalpers to be messed around with. You 2 are not in the position to determine and theorize the scalpers’ mindsets, motivations, and intentions on why and how they do what they do..again, they throw a proposition, if you don’t like it, then you have a choice, in which you can refuse their offer. But if you feel that you have to mess with them, set them up with this and that, then that’s coming off being envious of them, being a poor sport, because the people that are upset of these scalpers, if they were in their shoes, they would do exactly the same thing, and make profit. And FYI, I’m not a scalper, I’ve been hunting down a ps5 since day one, eventually I’ll get one, but I’m not interested in giving these scalpers “payback”.. it’s fair game, technically what they r doing is not illegal, these people are still human beings..I’m sure Pat and Ian at some point, you sold an item that was worth more than retail.. how different is that?

  5. I cannot stand raffles on social media. It is so annoying to promote their business through a raffle of a hot item like a PS5. I called a local business out for it and they said its called business.

  6. The problem is with gamer's impatience. Scalpers would not exist if there weren't those who will pay the extra money just to have a new game system. It's just a game system, bitches!! Take a friggin chill pill and wait for one to be on the store shells at regular price. You ain"t going to die if you don't have the newest system right here and now unless you are. loser nerd

  9. The issue is that there are idiots that will placate the scalpers and pay their price. Not that there are scalpers to begin with. End of story. It’s pretty easy. Tell little Johnny he’s not getting a PS5 or an Oculus this year because there are a lot of fucking dickheads out there. Leave the guys with their 20 PS5s to rot. Seriously. Wtf people. Have some willpower.

  10. Imagine people putting this much energy into console scalping and not putting this much energy into stuff that actually matters lol. I dunno maybe stuff like healthcare, education reform etc… While most of you are ok with corporations ripping us off all the time.

  11. Never had a problem with GPU scalping until the Nvidia 20 Series GPU when Crypto currencies took off.. I also hate that retailers are allowing their own Employees to buy several consoles before they go out on the shop floor. There should be laws saying the product must go on the shelf and customers should have equal opportunity to obtain during retail hours and one per customer after online registration and collection to prevent several family members buying multiple consoles.

  12. Unfortunately not the scalpers themselves are the real issue here, its the people who actually want a Playstation so bad, that theyre willing to pay literally anything. If nobody would be that stupid, they would just own dozens of useless consoles.
It takes two dumb individuals to make this scam work.

  13. When I wanted to make extra money for the holidays, I got a part time job or did extra hours in my current one. These entitled pieces of shit contribute nothing and earn nothing. If the only way they can make extra money is by making other people's lives worse, then they don't deserve any money at all.

  14. while I don't believe in scalping…I just don't buy things unless its the correct price unfortunately we live in a society of "I want it now" and they take advantage of that

  15. Scamming IS wrong, but arbitrage is not. Pat, reselling a product for a higher price than obtained is also known as retail. Your statement that scalpers are taking or stealing consumers money is nonsense because the consumer WANTS to pay the seller what the price negotiated is. Artificial price controls like MSRP always result in secondary markets. At least whine about drugs if you’re going to whine about human nature.

  16. I don't really see how scalping PS5s or the new Xbox is "forcing people" to spend money, I mean I don't really agree with doing it and it doesn't even really seem like a great way to make money but the impact scalpers have is probably minimal vs just the general production of these consoles being lacking in the first place compared to the demand. Nobody is really being forced to spend anything because a PS5 or Xbox isn't necessary, blame Sony and Microsoft for not making enough consoles and making the whole system to purchase them convoluted as hell. I can get it if you want to just laugh at these people but just be honest about what it is, it's a bit disingenuous to act like people 'need' to buy these consoles.
