The fact that team cherry were willing to share as much as they have about silksong possibly implies that they feel very strongly about the surprise factor of the stuff they haven’t shared. I can’t recall if they’ve shared info about a character or place that spoiled everything about that place or NPC so I’d like to think that they’ve allowed us to peek into silksong just enough to indulge us but not so much that we won’t be astonished when we play the game. Excellent topic!
I don’t need a release date but I would like to know whether the game is coming out this year or next year

I think the majority of Hollow Knight fans are understanding of the fact that an unannounced release date gives Team Cherry the time to make SilkSong as polished, refined, and enchanting an experience as Hollow Knight was. We all know of big video game titles that have announced release dates prematurely only to stumble along in an attempt to reach that deadline or have to delay the game entirely, so I fully respect Team Cherry for giving their game the time it needs. The problem for me is the inconsistent nature of the marketing and the period of months that have gone by without so much as a word. It doesn’t have to be anything detailed or specific, but a general update on how development is coming along. The blog posts were perfect for that, not revealing too much but still keeping the fans hyped and informed, so it is disappointing we haven’t had another blog post for so long.

I think you're generally pretty fair here, both in terms of pros and cons. Either way, one thing's for sure, the marketing of Silksong is an approach I've never seen before.
