Week 7 came out for Friday Night Funkin and the update was so popular it crashed newgrounds’ servers. How popular this game is still blows me away sometimes.

So let’s run a play through the new week and run some small checks before reviewing my thoughts on the new week and the current direction of the game and the game itself.

NOTE: Please don’t ask me to play (insert mod here) or Roblox. I play what I find most interesting to me. Especially since… FNF mods don’t interest me very much

  1. Just a correction, the new input system does allow chords, it just isn't used much yet but there are chords, just only in really specific levels

The only 2 levels I noticed to have chords is the new Fresh rechart and the new Monster rechart. Monster was technically new with Week 7 as well, you should've played it, especially since that song uses chords quite frequently on Normal or Hard while Fresh only has a few chords at the beatbox section on Hard.

and something that wasn't mentioned, almost all the charts got touchups in the Week 7 update to be more fun and enjoyable while making use of the new engine. Personally, a true experience of the Week 7 as a whole would basically be playing the whole game again.

  2. 13:33 *about your score being 0, you were in practice mode, thats why it didnt count
its not a bug or anything 😉

+ about the naughtyness option, it doesnt say clearly what it does, but now that the game has voice acting, with that option turned off, it removes all the swearing in the game

  3. I don't know if you actually know this by now, but multiple inputs actually work properly in the game. The second song in week 1's updated charts and the monster song in week 2 both use doubles and they work right. No quads anywhere so I don't know about that, but the doubles work at least. Also, proper mod support is coming in the full game 🙂 They kickstarted it (and smashed the goal easily) so I guess that's something to look forward to

  4. I'm not experienced in rythm games, but maybe it's the splash animation when you get the notes right is why the offset is happening. Then again, I don't know anything about rythm games.

  5. I love how you explain words that are everyday rythym game terms too your audience, I remember when I was new too rythym game I would always get confused whenever someone use one of those words, great addition too your content 😀

  6. If you look back on previous weeks, (specifically monster hard in week 2), there are charts in the vanilla game with chords and doubles, so the base engine is capable of it
edit: looks like someone beat me to it

  7. The creators are working on scoreboard, and a easier way to import mods to the game (like the rhythm doctor example you showed), fixing the charts and offset, being able to custom arrows (it's colors at least) and a lot more that i can't remember at the to top of my head
