RIMWORLD: Shin's Legacy – Ep 26

Rimworld is the epic tale of one rat’s journey to survive the wastelands of an alien planet. This is a mostly vanilla run — I’m just running a few UI mods.

  1. Hey Quill,
Looks like you've got some granite traps there that haven't been built since you placed them. The rock traps take forever to build, since the material you choose increases the work time for construction projects. Wood/steel take the least amount of work I believe.

  2. Once you get the Knight, you will be able to trade with Imperial caravans and orbital traders. They have some good stuff, including tech prints and persona weapons.

Also you were wondering if you can appoint a heir. You can. Use the comms console with the pawn with the title. Call the Empire. There will be an option to designate a heir.
Once you change it, you will be required to build a monument. When the monument is complete the heir status will be designated.

  3. Your royal will eat other things to not starve to death, but won't be terribly happy about it. I believe you can make them eat a simple meal when their food bar is completely empty. Also you can totally click and drag on that food assignment menu to change them all at once!

  4. 21:53 Is click dragging not a vanilla thing now? I've legit forgotten… It works by setting one pawn to Simple, then click and hold on Simple and drag over any of the other buttons to quickly set them to Simple as well.

  5. Would it be feasible to set up a small outpost in a nearby tile with one or two colonists to do more farming? I've never done something like that but it seems like a dessert would be a decent time to try it

  6. The harp and harpsichord were originally crafted at the art bench, but this was changed in a hotfix not long after the Royalty DLC was released; now you need to use either the crafting spot or the smithy. The changelog explains that this was done because making those instruments requires crafting rather than art skill.
