The PS5 and Xbox Series X are awesome, but how do they compare to a PC Build where the Graphics Card alone is $500

  1. I’ve been purely a console gamer since the days of 16-bit up to last gen with PS4 and Switch. I decided to build a $2,000 USD gaming PC because I’ve never had a good computer before, but the PS5/Series X offer a good value overall.

  2. It's important to note that not everyone who buys a gpu is building a new computer. Some just need a gpu upgrade and in that case for the same price as a console you get, higher fidelity, resolution flexibility, game longevity, better performance

  3. Ok few takeways. And this is coming up every single console cycle. PCs are multimedia/work stations meaning they have multiple uses and functions. Gaming is one of them. You can use it to write books, emails, use word, excel, make powerpoint, developing, video editing, skyping, etc there are so many functions in it. Plus you can always upgrade your pc. Next, the cycle for new gpu hardware is maybe 1.5 years in average, so when the new 4000 nvidia or 7000 amd cards come around, the gap widens. PC overall has way better value at present and even more so in the future

  4. pc-
    upgrade path
more than just a gaming console
use it to file taxes and do work

    console-
    hey we are cheaper!
    uh… exclusive titles?
oh wait.. you can't get one now because 2020 sucks and scalpers are satan's spawn roaming the earth..

    pc>console
EVEN IF YOU CAN'T BUY A GPU NOW.

  5. Here's the thing it's not fair to compare a game on console to a pc because the console version isn't the best one. Meaning the pc version is capable of running it with true 4k with the intended graphics while the ps5 may run 4k but it's not at the same level of 4k. I'm not talking about upscaling. But either ways the ps5 is a rlly good bang for the buck.

  6. its not just a $500 pricepoint, add the extra subscription that they will get ya over the next 7 years for 69.99 a year, say $500 for good measure, but hey you get "free" games you will never think twice about, you have an arm and a leg amputated compared to if you run a PC, so many restrictions what you do with your equipment, id rather get the 3070 and pay double up front and not be fucked in my sleep while i aint paying attention, sure it doesnt hurt coz im sleeping but it still feels wrong. no?

id love to see someone try an i3 10100 with a 3070 and see if they can bench higher framerates than the xbox caps out at, you can upgrade to one of those for $200 even on the most basic system

  7. i think that part of the reason I prefer PC over the xbox and playstation consoles is because of the freedom. im able to use my computer for school as well as creation, but more than that when buying games you have much more freedom. while on the x and ps5 you only have digital deals from their respective store and sometimes physical deals in stores, on pc i have the freedom to get games cheaply from gog or humble bundle or even decide between steam and epic sales to get the best price on my games (with a much vaster library of them to boot). of course there is never any end all be all to this timeless debate. I know personally that i would love to have a ps5 as well for its exclusives and unique controller along with more features. Even the switch which is way underpowered compared to a pc is incredible to me because of its unique features.

  8. So a ps5 is 400 bucks total and a pc with a500 gpu is equal but then you have to spend 200 on a ssd that’s as fast as ps5 and 300 on a cpu that’s equal and 200 for a decent power supply 150 for the ram 100 for a full copy of windows etc etc etc so basically pay 500 or pay over a grand for equal pc hmmm pc master race baby

  9. Remember, this video is relevant for a short period of time. Consoles are always a great value right at launch. It doesn't take long for PC hardware to reach a point where a similarly priced system out performs a console.

  10. On pc u dont have to pay for year memberships to play with friends. On pc it's more than just gaming, I can surf the web as well and I get free games from epic games and steam . This dude is leaning more on consoles and left alot out on pc smh

  11. Great informative content. However it’s not $1,200 more for individuals who are simply upgrading their already prebuilt PC’s. Of course at retail price of $399 vs resale price. Even then, you may be able to find a solid deal on offerup or craigslist.

  12. I feel by Q1 PC (RTX 300 series) will come 1st with having every generation plus no censoredship it will take 1st place
2nd is PS5 for exclusives and western 3rd party games
Last Series X honesty with a launch worst than Xbox one and stadia and how well microsoft went with nothing last few years of the generation saying oh one is dead but get hype for Series x we promise it won't be another one and it was but worse, at this point microsoft should focus on Xcloud and team up with steam a bit more and drop Series X

  13. Because PC games run on the unfinished and pathetic Windows OS Kernal you can never compete with the bespoke UNIX execution environment of PS5 running a game. Specs have little to do with it, price has something to do with it but OS choice is the brick wall to home gaming happiness on PC vs PS5 at ANY PRICE! I don't even like PS4/PS5 or even PS3 BUT I know Windows 10 is a product of morons constantly buying Windows rubbish despite it being the worst OS compared to rivals in every decade since 1984!
