Scavengers: What You Should Know About This NEW Multiplayer Game

Today we’ll be taking a closer look at Scavengers, the brand new F2P action shooter that combines elements of Survival, Sandbox PvE, and Competitive PvP.

This is a brand new squad based, third-person shooter that combines elements of survival, sandbox PvE, and competitive PvP. You’ll team up in squads of three, everyone choosing their own Explorer, which are basically classes with unique abilities and weapons. Then you spawn in, and work together scavenging, gathering resources, fighting off AI and other players while you complete objectives, gather data, and try to survive till the end.

It’s a pretty interesting combination and blending of genres. There are survival elements as you try to stave off cold and hunger, PvE with you completing objectives while fighting various factions of AI enemies, and of course competitive PvP as you battle other players to steal their data, while trying to stay alive yourself.

At this point I’ve played several hours of the game, just recently getting a chance to check out the latest build before it comes to Steam. So today I wanted to go over everything I know, talk a bit about my experience, and give you some general impressions from what I’ve seen so far.

  1. Thanks for saving me some time. Was gonna download and give it a try. Now i can skip without regrates since its basically a battle royal game.

  2. Im honestly exited for this game, they dynamic of the dropship that forces high stakes last minutes fights seems like the strongest part that could keep it competitive to FTP titles like Rogue Company, Dauntless, and Apex while also carving its own genre.

  3. Feels EXTREMELY mediocre. From gameplay, to gunplay, to graphics, to sound…just pretty much everything screams average. Could be fun with friends for a while, but this won't be a very popular/succesful game which will be around for years.

  4. Iunno. I like the idea of a slightly lower investment battle royale, one that has respawns and numerous ways to get score.

But what the hell is the point of that if the only way you can win is by getting inside of a last point, that if you die you drop literally everything? Kind of defeats the purpose of the incremental and reduced loss mechanics, if at the end when it matters it's nearly the same as any other Battle Royale, all or nothing.
