Everyone wants to change up their appearance every now and then in Sea of Thieves, and now you have that option. You can reset your character’s looks as you head back to the bottom of the ship to choose a premade pirate based on their gender and unique appearance. It is possible that you grew bored of your current character, or never took the time to make a great selection in the first place.
Now you can have that chance by following a few simple steps, but it isn’t free if you want to keep all of your progress. Luckily, it is fairly cheap and is a great way to change things up when you want a new look for your pirate in Sea of Thieves!
Load The Main Menu
The first step is to load into the main menu of Sea of Thieves until you reach the part where you are asked to choose your experience. This is the screen where you would generally choose to enter Adventure Mode where you can complete Tall Tales, or Arena Mode where you compete with other pirates, and it also tells you what is new within the game itself.
Go Into The Pirate Emporium
When you are in the main menu, you will see a box that says Pirate Emporium in the upper right-hand corner. When you click on this it will bring you to a new window where you can buy things like cosmetics for your ship, pirate, or pets.
Click The “Pirate” Tab
You need to look at the top of your screen and you will see four different tabs that you can cycle through in the Pirate Emporium. It is here you can choose between Home, Pets, Pirate, and Ships, which is something beginners often don’t know about.
The tab you are looking for is the Pirate tab, and you will see a range of weapon cosmetics, costumes, and emotes.
Buy The “Pirate Appearance Potion”
Once you land on the main page of the Pirate tab, you will see something called the Pirate Appearance Potion in the bottom center of your screen. It will cost you 149 Ancient Coins, which comes out to around $2.09.
If you don’t have enough Ancient Coins you can always purchase more by clicking on the icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. They often run sales on these coins, as well as hold special events where you can earn them for yourself in-game, and one example is to take on Ancient Skeletons.

Relaunch Sea Of Thieves
Once you have acquired the potion you need to relaunch Sea of Thieves in order to use it. You will then be taken to the bottom of the ship where you can choose a new character, and you won’t lose any of the progress you have made.
