This is how I decided what to main for Shadowlands, how many classes, which role, which spec, following some very simple rules.

  1. I've mained Prot Warrior since Vanilla but I'm going to be going with DK. DK just feels like a better version of Warrior in every spec right now.

I have a bunch of multi-role alts (DH, Monk, Pally, Druid, Shaman) and I need to decide what I want to focus on – I've really only done tanking seriously but might want to try healing.

  2. Similar choice in class, although I will main an Enhancement for raid, and WW/BM for Mythic+. Not clear yet as to what to choose as third and fourth (I would like one class for each Covenant). I am considering Warlock, which is useful and fun (both Aff and Dest) for raid and M+ (besides, my guild has one warlock only in raids, so…). The other one would be Rogue, mostly out of curiosity, never played it before. If Rogue turns out to be boring, then my Arms warrior!

  3. I am so torn on what to play tbh.
I and some friends leveled up on a new server and I got spriest, afflock, UHdk and subrogue at 50 now. UHdk and Rogue are out, I hate how they play in PvE, but I want a melee character. While UH is just out, I kinda like sub for pvp but I want something I can enjoy in both pve and pvp content.
Currently I am weighing Spriest and Afflock somewhat evenly. I have some issues with both. I still haven't gotten used to Malefic Rapture, on multi-target it feels good, but single target it just doesn't feel right. afflock dots also just feel weak and just there to enable/boost MR. ( I hate when it is just 1 ability that does the majority of my damage)
Shadowpriest gameplay on the other hand feels too simple in comparison (2 main dots and 1 spender dot with short duration and high cost, insanity ramp up is also really slow) and it seems (I haven't really played PvP yet on any char, since I am undergeared as hell and it wouldn't give an accurate representation of the class) weaker in pvp due to lack of mobility and defensives.
I kinda want to give WW monk and elemental shaman a go but I don't know if I have the time leveling them up.

  4. My issue when it comes to picking is that I love tanking, but also love playing ranged DPS. Unless I play a druid which absolutely sucks ass (in my opinion). I have no choice but to play 2 different classes. With limited play time its a pain in the backside.

  5. I’ll play my DK and Warlock, then it’s up in the air. If I have time for another character, which I seriously doubt, it’s between Warrior, Paladin or hunter. I like wow to be simple. I use my brain 8 hours a day at work so when I play wow I want to relax and not have to think about stuff so I’m leaning towards warrior or hunter to potentially replace my warlock. It all depends on the feel of the conduits, unfortunately.

  6. Great as always, Izen. You big galaxy brained bastard. This is the only channel I check up with every day and I actual “like” every one of your videos. Keep up the good work man.

  7. My choice for main is fury as it for now, because of fast paced gameplay and great burst, maybe alt is druid – because of gold making and jack of all trades. Also I’m interested in range dps, and your videos do help a lot with choice. Considering mage or warlock, but mage does not seems so interesting gameplay wise, so I’ll try warlock I think.

  8. havoc feels kinda similar to MoP survival hunter rotation wise, just with different spell animations and without a dot to upkeep. Build or spend ressources with an instant, while waiting for 2-3 instant spells to come off cooldown. So I don't understand why you don't like it. Either your brain changed since MoP, or you are irrational.

  9. So do you grind them all up at once to 60 or do you just level your main and the casually bring up your alts? I'll be re rolling from Holy Paladin to Rsham. Going to keep Fury Warrior as a alt. I feel I will fall behind the curve it I level them back to back.

  10. For me I just wanted to cover all the bases for PvE gameplay and then pick a class to dedicate to PvP.

    So I went with:
    1. Demon hunter
    (Melee DPS/Tank/World Content)
    2. Priest (Ranged DPS/Healer)
    3. Monk (PvP as WW)

But for me my main rule for SL is to not overlap covenants. I want to experience all of them, and get all the rewards. So I wanted to have 1 character for each covenant.

So I need a 4th character. Can’t decide between Hunter and Shaman. 😫

  11. I don't like my character wearing a dress.
I want to swing massive 2H weapons.
I like the pets system but I don't like bows or the gun designs.
    I don't like shields.
    I don't like mana.
I like stealth but I don't like leather.
    I only like plate.

  12. Similar debate with me:

? Main druid for my first time ever (since classic)
? Continue with monk like I did with BFA.
    ? DK/Shaman like I did with Legion.

I mainly run Mythic+ in pugs, alternate between tank and heals (sometimes DPS).

  13. Most enjoyable spec for me in game is Outlaw I'm just worried about ST, but I guess I don't mind to play Subtlety if it does good damage which it may not because of the constant nerfs.
I also like Warlock and DK because of their theme. Team edgelord over here!
So I'll start with Warlock and Rogue and we will see. I just hope I can play Venthyr on Warlock and not be 10% or more % worse then Kyrian. I can live with some ST loss because I like M+ more then raiding but if it's 10% then it's just unreasonable.

  14. I can follow this…. but i choose 2 +2 classes… i will start out 2… and then start 2 more down the road, to atleast experience all the covenants.. i main healer, in mythic+ so both classes need a healing spec… i raid as dps, so atleast one preferably 2 dps … and i love to do open world and pvp as a mellee….

  15. Yo Izen! I have a hard time choosing between, Pally (Ret), Shamy (Ele / Enh, depends ond whats good), warry and hunter. Of course for all Content, but mainly PvE

What would you chose out of the four and why? And what not and why?

Keep up the excellent work! Want to see more of your content for SL,

  16. I'm currently looking at maining Elemental myself, but I'm struggling to pick it because it feels like Mage does a lot of the same and better. You said your guild still needed an elemental shaman. What do you feel that Ele brings over the other ranged? Because I'm just picking it for how fun it is.
