  1. When i first tried it, i played it as a cover game…got bored real quick and annoyed with the spacebar issues. Didn't feel great at all, also really hate how slow the game get's too things. We aren't idiots, i know shift is running, don't put me in a godaweful long intro where each and every mechanic is slowly introduced…i mean…real slowly. They could have done that whole crap in 2 minutes and be done with it. I don't play a shooter for walking forever AND NOT GET TO SHOOT FOR 15 or so minutes (shooting tutorial not counting), holy fuck did that take long.
I did like the setting but meh, felt like crap so i uninstalled it.

Then SkillUp's video was suggested to me and after hearing you should try and play it as a none cover shooter I decided to give them demo another look. I enjoyed that way more, plus after doing that horrible intro once you can just skip it on new characters so that was nice. Only played 2 classes so far, but it was enjoyable. Not really 60 euro enjoyable I think they charge to much for the price, it feels more like a 40 – 45 euro game.
Still on a discount it will be a purchase for me…..but please remove that horrible shaking camera, no one likes that shit, it ruins the cutscenes cause once you notice it, it will get very distracting.

  2. Good luck just wait while the loop will get repetitive and maybe a one year if that any more with these games it will be free to play. And then gambling mechanics later on then season pass then. Some crap like destiny about removing content. Because of some stupid or talk and of course dlc because why not. Sow good luck and in hate to tell you this it's the game. They phrase demo is just PR talk. For as to quite space ball's fold you.

  3. so you liked oneshotting all the enemies with opvertuned abilities, but didn't like having to engage with any of the actual aiming/cover/tactics/boss engagements
got it, pretty much mirrors my own opinons tbh
tho i did like the MC literally not giving a shit about anything that was going on and just killing anything that became annoying.

also from what i remember only the technomancer heals off damage, the rest heal off kills. so weirdly enought he technomancer ends up as the most tanky class vs bosses because everyone else is limited to the 30% ultra-rapid-emergency-auto-hp-regen-pool once you take a couple of cheap-shots from boss abilities that move faster then your character does in anything but a flat-out sprint (you roll, you post-roll-recovery-animation, you die).

  4. 9:28 IMO the demo was an absolute win form the consumer perspective, they did what the anthem devs could not, they followed up a totally honest pre-launch dev-stream cycle (anthem showed EVERYTHING, they just had nothign else behind the curtin, in fact even the curtains were last minute additions) with a semingly honest gameplay demo for people to see what was on the table.

net-result? it's not ready for market. there's fundamental gameplay features that are unresponsive(cover), worthless(any weapon that's nor a shotgun or scoped rifle) or simply poorly thought out (the "pick one thing to be good at" talent tree) combined with gear being the primary upgrade path for your abilities yet the gear only providing cooldown/damage/range stats for the most part, I did see a few passive/proc effects but they were generally less effective than a single bullet to an enemies skull)
also the life-leach weapon-trait did seem the most useful considering the world-levels will make already spongy self-regening enemies take additional minutes worth of "combat" each to grind into catfood and 3/4 of the classes require a kill to trigger any healing at all while enemies are as happy to spam fast-moving-auto-tracking abilities just as much as the player is to wipe out hordes of 3-4 enemies in a single button press.

the dev team clearly put work into the title (tho not much of it into the gunplay/talents/health-system/cover-mechanics/enemy-behavior) and the demo gives a solid first impression of thwhat to expect.
I fully intend to buy this game.
in a deep-sale, after all the additional content is out, once it's had a few more patches to fix the performance enhacements, shakey-cam, hard-bound keyboard buttons (G opened the codes pretty much every time I went into combat so I always sarted with a sniper beam coming out of the fog to take away 1/4 of my hp) and maybe a few balance patches.

Hopefully "the stash" is an account inventory as well. 99% of the gear I saw was genric, inneffective and merchant-fodder.

  5. The opening gave me a mass effect andromeda feel, then they promptly slammed shut that "ooh maybe there's exploration" aspect down for a generic sci-fi dystopia setting.
Hopefully things will open up after the demo section, the entire demo felt like an MMO prologue area, 1:10th the size of future maps (hopefully) and far more linear.
