I found myself some trolls and also found out that they make for some great armor ;] The Black Forest is where my next objective rests. I need to get into some dungeons so I can find crafting materials for the next tier of crafting.

If you wait to block until they start to swing, you will stagger the enemy. Staggered enemies take critical hit damage. There is also damage types. If you hit something and see yellow numbers, the enemy is weak to that damage type. White numbers are neutral and grey are resistant.

go into the dark forest and get the better wood from the tall trees and craft the sledgehammer like weapon from it, it's perfect for clearing dungeons

Clubs work much better against skels. You need the bones to upgrade it.
Unless you changed it in your key bindings, you only need to press F for the buffs. Blocking takes stamina so if you are low you will not fully block an attack. You can double click on the map to add markers so you can find things again. Great for marking dungeons before you finish them. You can click on a marker you have made and it will put an X thru it which is good once you have completed a dungeon. Right click markers to remove them. Cut down one of every tree type you find for crafting recipes.
