  1. As someone who has said I'm Gibby main since season 1, there is a lot of similarities between the two and together I feel like there would be a lot of viability, due to the how well they could revive in a fight and also the fact the bubble can now be saved for more urgent situations while Newcastle can fill those cracks, I say this because Ramparts and Fuse can work around or through his abilities

Then Mad Maggie can kinda ruin both a bit with her drill

  2. I for sure do NOT like the new weapon balance changes. They effectively made most of the weapons inferior to the weapons that were already strong, I feel like there is little point in picking up any LMG, the Havoc is the only assault rifle I see being used. I don’t quite like it

  3. I think he's fairly good, and surprisingly balanced (looking directly at you Seer on release). I've noticed his abilities can interfere with his teammates, blocking nades/ults and such, so there is some nuance to using him.

  4. With the game now favoring time and placement, It’s all going to lead to a large amount of squads left in the last couple of rings, leading to a chaotic end game. He’s good for some Guaranteed cover and a safe haven

  5. Tbh I think Newcastle really bulks the current Meta. He rivals and supports the defensive legends, and his abilities are also simple enough to give crypto and Maggie smth to destroy

  6. Yeah Newcastle is like a walking Fortress. I think if your more of a defensive player (Like you enjoy playing Caustic, Crypto, Wattson) Newcastle is definitely gonna be another Legend to pick up. But if you are a bit more offensive then I am sure you'll end up sticking with Gibby. I just think Gibby and Newcastle provide the same role just play very differently and I think it comes down to an offensive tank vs a defensive tank and you'll choose depending on your style. I know for myself I prefer Newcastle but I am a defensive player.

  7. Tried him a few times and could never find a strong pratical use for his skills to help team of randos win a match early game. Trying to rez and advancing is way too easily countered by simply shooting down the sheild. Would be way more fun if it matched the HP of his sheild accessory level. His most valuable use I can think of at moment is final ring out in open with no cover. His ult can give a clear advantage. Over all teams

  8. Newcastle in a 1v1 with Gibby feels hard. Being two big guys you both hit all your shots, but Gibby has the arm shield to tank extra health so ultimately he wins the fight. However, Newcastle in a 1v1 with any other legend does just as well as Gibs imo, and while Newcastle's lit is hard to use. It also gives a much higher skill ceiling than Gibby. Making for aggressive, defensive and supportive plays much better than Gibby.

  9. I like Newcastle he’s my favorite legend and favors my play style. He’s balanced enough to not be OP but still a strong character to have on your team imo, obviously Gibbys dome shield is better for protection since it doesn’t take damage but for an already kinda clunky husky defensive character I prefer Newcastle’s tact because it favors mobility more than gibbys. Then gibbys ult is offensive but I like how thoughtful you have to be with Newcastles. He’s my new main.
