Friday Night Funkin’ (often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source rhythm game first released as a demo in 2020 for a game jam. The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin’ Crew Inc., with the four founding members being the Newgrounds users Cameron “ninjamuffin99” Taylor, David “PhantomArcade” Brown, Isaac “Kawai Sprite” Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s. The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song. The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020. An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates being released in the following months. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin’: The Full Ass Game is currently in development. Thomas & Friends (originally known as Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends and later Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures!) is a British children’s television series that aired across 24 series from 1984 to 2021. Based on The Railway Series books by Rev. W. Thomas is a blue tank engine is the number one engine of the North Western Railway and is the titular main protagonist of the Thomas & Friends series. In this mod, Thomas will have his own week, which will be released in the demo version of the mod. Thomas is an anthropomorphic side tank engine painted in NWR cerulean blue with red lining. He has six small wheels, a short, stumpy funnel, a short, stumpy boiler, and a short, stumpy dome. His cab windows are outlined with yellow frames and he has two whistles in front of his cab. His running board is white with red sides and slopes downwards at the front. On top of his front buffer beam are two lamp irons and one lamp on the right. He has the number 1 painted in yellow with red outlining on his side tanks. Edward is a blue medium-sized tender engine. He is the number two engine and the oldest engine on the North Western Railway. In this mod, Edward will appear in the tutorial and a bonus song. Edward is a 4-4-0 engine, which is commonly referred to as the “American” type configuration. His livery is exactly the same as Thomas’s. He has a blue body with red lining and yellow frames around his cab windows. His whistle protrudes from the front of his cab and he has the number 2 painted in yellow with red outlining on his tender. James is a red mixed-traffic tender engine . He is known to think highly of himself due to his shiny red coat of paint. James is the number five engine on the Island of Sodor and serves as the overall tritagonist of Thomas & Friends. He will have his own week in the mod. James is a 2-6-0 “Mogul” engine painted in scarlet red with black lining and black wheels. His boiler bands and dome are yellow and he has curved cut-outs on the sides of his cab.
