Have you tried swapping Mother's Sorrow for Medusa? if so do you still prefer Mother's sorrow?
For me it works a bit different, I sun a magica Templar vampire, ring of pale order, war maiden and mother’s sorrow ( gears not too tier but buffs critical and magica damage, I also run with an imperfect maelstrom lightning staff) run simmering frenzy with puncturing sweep spam and radiant glory. I run elemental blockade channeled focus psijic speed and extended ritual. Also elemental drain. Also swarming scion and Destro ult. So in VMA rotate buffs first then piercing and simmer repeat with bosses and use vamp ult to boost health, toggle simmer and spam pierce + use any dot and elemental drain. Use glory to finish In normal ma most bosses die before the ult ends or just after. I’m a stage 1 vamp btw. Sorry if this is a bit all over the place just wanted to contribute.

welcome back, even tho ive been playing on and off since beta, i greatly appreciate your detailed explanations of mechanics, skills and gear. since each patch changes things, adds gear and there is always more to learn! My templar learned a lot from this one! cant wait for the latest release and companions and getting to 1200 cp 2.0.
for anyone who needs to practice the grappling hook or grappling bow, there is a basic tutorial in the elswyr prologue quests with Sai at his school, and practice quests.
