  1. Should turn the shaders off and only use them when show casing builds etc. Doesn't give the best experience seeing the shaders all the time as a viewer.

  2. I can tell you now, Minecraft has certainly changed a lot since the last time you played.
    1. They've added IRL animals like Bee, Goat, Frog/Tadpole and Axolotl (likely because they're endangered species) as well as some more fictitious mobs like Hoglin, Piglin, Warden, Strider, and Allay
    2. There's now something called Netherite which can be crafted into armour and tools that is slightly better than diamond armour and tools and won't burn in lava.
    3. The Nether dimension is no longer a barren wasteland like it used to be, because they've added biomes with features like Crimson and Warped forest biomes that have this tree-like fungus (Which the stems can be crafted into the same things that logs can do in the Overworld dimension, but don't burn nor can be crafted into boats) as well as added some blocks like Basalt, Blackstone (a substitute for stone in the Nether), Ancient Debris (which Netherite stems from), Shroomlight (A light source block) and Crying Obsidian (Which makes a Respawn Anchor, that can only be used in the Nether)
    4. The Overworld dimension now has the height limit expanded from 256 to 384 blocks high (-64 to 320). when you go further down into the caves the Stone will be transitioned to a new variant called Deepslate (and the regular stone ores have a Deepslate variant, as well as different textures to give them a more unique look as well as something that can help players who are colour blind to know which ore is which).
    5. Lava is now a renewable source with Pointed Dripstone. Using a block of stone, place pointed dripstone underneath as a stalactite and have a cauldron under it to catch the lava and you get an infinite source
    6. Copper is an ore that was added to the game as part of Caves & Cliffs (which was split in 2 parts, 1.17 and 1.18), along with Iron and Gold now has its own drop when mined (referred to as Raw Iron, Raw Copper and Raw Gold, respectively). Can be used to craft Spyglass, with Amethyst shard
    7. Amethyst geodes have been added to the game, as well as moss and Azalea trees (they don't have a unique wood type unless you use a mod)
    8. Unlike Azalea trees, another tree with a new wood type has recently been added called Mangrove and it's much different from the others as farming other trees have saplings that are dropped by the decaying leaves but the Mangrove tree has a propagule (which can grow on both land and in water) growing from the leaves, and has roots that sprout around it
    9. Mud has now been added to the game, by right clicking on a dirt block with a water bottle in hand and when placed on a block with pointed dripstone underneath makes clay when dry (making a renewable source for clay)
