I've had problems with my toddlers not eating certain things too.
I can't figure that out either. I had a toddler boy get a romance bar with his mother too but I don't have cheats or mods in my game.
When you get that bad simulation lag, keep it on Speed 1 until they sort themselves out. If they get completely stuck, pause the game and reset them.
you have to wait until 6 hours before you send them to the hospital. Once they get to 6 hours they always have the baby right when they get to the hospital. I don't think it's bugged I think that's how the game is supposed to be. I think it's supposed to simulate how you don't have babies right away in real life.
