  1. Blazer £5, tie £2, trousers*4 £40, shirt*6 £30, shoes £10. I can't understand how a person spends £300-£400 on there uniforms, there's so many shops where you can get the full uniform new for about less than £150. And in addition to that most of the uniform is branded to the school so the only supplier is the school and a second party shop near by.

  2. My private Chinese school really has to see this video, our uniforms look bad and we have to wear tight buns. We're mostly girls too so literally NO ONE wants to wear them.

  3. If you ask me, this could and would very well apply to workplace uniforms, even to the generic officeman's blazer, tie, slacks, and shoes.

Being told what I should be wearing really gets on my nerves, mostly because I wear a jacket/windbreaker almost everyday, and when don't wear it because of those orders, the day just conveniently starts to rain and I just stare at that person with the sharpest yet blank look I have.

Otherwise, it will be me sneezing away because someone thinks the aircon affects everyone equally. This will always make me have to remind them that no two people's bodies work the same. If I'm going to become unhealthy because of some clothing suggestions, I would rather not work there at all.

In this video, you described how the uniform affects finances, appearance of reputation, and unity. I argue that the uniform, regardless of the standard, also affects physical health. Granted, it should be obvious, but from my experience, it's not obvious enough.

  4. I have had experience with school uniforms and I've only had 1 single same uniform and I only had to wash that thing twice a week and nothing ever happened to it so I still have it to this day

  5. You should also read some Michel foucault. He writes about power and identity and how schools are designed like prisons to exercise power and this includes how students are dressed not just the architecture.

  6. I've been wearing uniforms since primary, I live in the UK so it's expected but you can always tell the difference between who has money and who doesn't. I really enjoyed this theory! Thank you for making your channels, Idk what I would have done without them, they help me understand a lot of different things!

  7. 5:47 i have worn a school uniform for the last 10 years and i’ve never met a single person who has a uniform for each day. everyone has 1 blazer and tie, probably like 3 shirts and like 2 trousers or skirt. unheard of to have a new blazer each day

  8. During my school life, i went to a school where we had to wear uniforms, most if not all the students there had just 2 pairs of the uniform (used to wear one set for 3 days and the other for the rest, then wash the clothes during weekends) and it wasn't even that bad, but the idea of having 6 sets of uniforms is mad crazy (I'm not from the US btw)

  9. I went to a uniform high school and always had problems with them. The first year uniforms were fine, they were up sized which was nice as kids grow, by end of grade 9 I was almost 6ft and 180 pounds'ish, yet the large still fit and outside of school i needed xl, my shoulders were growing along with the rest of my muscles so they were a bit tight in the chest but still room in the belly. 2nd year they changed the the uniform, they were sleeker, narrow and small, everyone I knew had to get 2-3 sizes bigger than what they would get normally, I went out of my way to try and find older uniforms as at this point, If i had gotten the new uniform, i would need it in 4xl and it would still be too tight across the chest/arm pits. Not everyone is built the same and limiting the choices of comfort is not great as it can be distracting if your clothes are to tight/not great itchy material.
