  1. I am going to make my first prognostication about this game that seems to be having lots of troubles. While searching the aethers in an old haunted house in Historic Harpers Ferry, WV I slipped on an old 1930's ouija board, from William J. Fuld and fell flat on the floor, busting my head, on an antiquated deck of Tarot cards from Aleister Crowley. Lol! But seriously hopefully this could be a good sign as we all know what happened with the release of Cyberpunk. Sometimes it is best to wait if it is not ready. I just see some of Paradoxes other games being offered on the Xbox Ultimate subscription. It is a telling sign of something to come as Microsoft is working on acquiring Bethesda and they have some pretty popular games under their belt. This acquisition is huge news in the game world and is great news for us ultimate subscribers. So with a little deductive reasoning and maybe a little ouija it is not hard to see that maybe their is light at the end of the dark tunnel. It is just weird that hardsuit labs gets canned at this precise time. Not only delaying the game but allowing time for the merger to take place and another studio connected to Microsoft, hint, hint, Bethesda, to swoop in and take over the development. It may be a stretch but it may also be elementary my dear Watson. We shall see if the stars were right! 🙂

  2. Honestly maybe they should cancel Bloodlines and focus on other franchises in the world of darkness universe. Maybe regroup and push things like the coteries/shadows of New York series, night road and earthblood. I mean swansong could be the v5 equivalent to bloodlines and how it perfected a Gehenna/time of judgement chronicle.

  3. How did I not know that you do art!? I can't wait to see some of it! Edit: Thanks for mentioning the Crusader Kings mod! I used to play a Game of Thrones mod for the old CK2, but I had NO idea there was a VTM mod for the new one!!

  4. Hopefully they throw out the entire game. Keep the most basic of assets to speed up dev time and make a brand new game. I dont want the cursed stink of all this to follow the game

  5. Here's the thing, after playing Werewolf the Apocalypse Earthblood, and seeing all these difficulties in development on Bloodlines, I don't feel like this is gonna turn out as we hoped, WtAE showed how bad things can get. I hope everything goes well, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  6. I'm really looking forward to Out for Blood. I loved Night Road too but when they announced the 3 interactive novels Out for Blood was the one that interested me the most.

  7. Oh cmon. Are you really slaughtering the brand with a battle royale game?

I mean start with introducing VTM on a high quality level. We live in an age where everyone thinks that a vampire is like in twilight and werewolves are like in vampire diaries. Sensitive teenagers with victimhood mentality.

Most see these supernatural creatures as lame because of this. And it would be good if you reintroduced these supernatural creatures and change the perspective of the majority of gamers who yawn and roll eyes whenever they hear the word vampire or werewolf.

  8. Sacking the entire development team and the writers and the studio that did the development this close to projected release says that this is a game that will never release in a form as advertised in pre-order sales. Nothing will come good from this. If you have a preorder you're better off asking for your money back. (Qualifications for this statement: 20 years in game development with 13 years at a senior level.)

  9. A gritty, dark game about vampires in the WoD can be done. I also believe you can also have a WoD MMO game like EVE that has a lot of content that is made by the players. Encouraging role play and the stories not only provided by the developer but also created by the players, it would be good. It's not going to be made for everyone; mass appeal often makes games lame.

There could be a little battle royale between vampires and werewolves for that crowd but any WoD game needs to be made for the players that played the previous ones. It's a wild concept in today's gaming production to actually make a game that is aimed at a specific audience and ability level but it's how it was in the 90s and 2000s. You either got better or you played something else.

Yeah a WoD online game where you have Vampires, Werewolves (who have very long cool down times for that Crinos form) , and some Mages (who also have restrictions considering how strong Mages can be) along with Hunters and their Numina. Hunters play like paladins, Mages play like… mages, Werewolves play like Druids often do and have that flavor, Vampires are edgy rogues with different powers. And since part of the game is player motivated we have a lot of open bars and other areas where players can literally sit down and talk or dance in clubs on their journey in the World of Darkness. Open world with many social hubs. It's as much a game as it is a chat room with avatars and some will play like that. It has a mature only rating because of the strong themes of sex and violence. It's the World of Darkness, it's meant to be dark. Players are embraced into a clan of Vampires which they will need to find by solving clues and knowing what NPCs to talk to and that clan is unlocked for future character creation. I don't know much about Werewolves or Mages but you would unlock various traditions and clans by meeting them in the game like the Vampire clans. Actually Mages just have to find the right book of spells and they can learn different things. Werewolves all have the same basic powers and can learn different totems from different tribes. It's understood you're in the game a sort of "mutt" or Caitiff and can learn them. Hunters are the default choice for players (with Numina being a form of magic Mages learn) until they are seduced by darkness one way or another. Werewolves are just born with that unique lineage, which makes more sense.

  10. I just wish Paradox was more honest and transparent with what exactly happened. From what Outstar said about playing the unfinished version it looked like a solid game with a good foundation that only needed some major polish. What was so catastrophic that they needed to cut the entire development studio? So odd. I really hope that after the legal stuff is done they tell us what actually happened. 😕

  11. This "series" is cursed. Bloodlines 1 was at least unique and probably still is the most interesting RPG to date, even if broken at launch, the launch that happened at the worst of times. Please meditate on what made 1 so good and build on that. Some of the things are definitely the lack of holding the player's hand – no mini map, no quest markers, etc. Substantially different approaches to doing stuff depending on your character's skills. And the absurdly grotesque, yet still somehow realistic atmosphere of a city at night full of monsters.

  12. I was cautiously optimistic about this game when I saw some of the names attached to it and how passionate many people were about working on it. But now it's just bad news on top of bad news on top of bad news. I don't envy Outstar her job of being the person to have to tell us about this stuff.
