Here is my take. There are 4 regions tied to the lighthouses, and you go on a big collectathon through those regions until God Slayer Bowser is awakened, then he changed the overworld and you have to rush to the changed areas while under attack by him until you get to each lighthouse which was itself locked off before and free the light, and once all four are unlocked the bell unlocks and you have to make your way there under attack by Bowser the whole time until you get there and hit that final boss fight.
It looks great, but for me it all depends on how much new content there is. Just like you said it’s hard to justify spending $60 for only 2-3 hours of content when I still own the Wii U version (especially because of the unprecedented times we are in). If this was $30 I’d buy it day one. However for now I’m going to wait and see.
I loved Mario 3D World so much, couldn’t understand why people were being so damn negative about it. I’m actually excited to play it again
Based on the trailer, I say that Bowser's Fury just took the crown for best looking game on the Switch! Unfortunately I believe it'll only be a 2-4 hour experience akin to Asto's Playroom, so it won't be with the $60 price tag IMO…
This "game" probably started out as Odyssey DLC, but then they switched it to a 3D World aesthetic so that they could re-sell us an 8 year old game and charge full price! Which is unfortunate because this looks like it would have been an awesome sequel to 3D World, as well as a great follow up to Odyssey, by blending both games into one amazing experience! The 3D Mario team is the best "standard" development studio at Nintendo(BotW used a mixture of multiple teams and studios so it doesn't count) and always bring us creative ideas, along with top tier visuals and music on whichever platform they make a game for! So here's hoping that BF was a side thing that they finished while they were working on a full fledge Mario game…
God-Slayer name some say it is a false statement.
