  1. I have a question about something I theorized myself. We have to wait for Korayn to test it. Korayn has an ability called First Strike (Damaging an enemy before they damage you increases your chance to critical strike by 25% for 5 sec.) Combined with Korayn's other ability Wild Hunt Tactics (Your damage to targets above 75% health and healing to targets below 35% health is increased by 10%.)

What I was seeing is if you pop your Wild Spirits on pull, you get 10% additional damage and 25% extra crit chance. That seems amazing for mythic plus but how many times do you get to attack without getting hit first? Then I thought does Feign Death or Shadowmeld count as a reset on you taking damage from enemies because if it does then you get the 25% crit buff a lot more often.

I was wondering what do you think about this? I also like the Wildfire Cluster especially if you get it to crit during your 5 second crit windows with Korayn as your covenant choice.

  2. We had our normal raid night tonight and cleared 6/10 bosses on normal, one shotted most of them until time was up. I noticed that for the first time EVER, there was a new member in the group: a SURVIVAL hunter! I was super excited because finally! Some respect for one of my favorite specs in the game.

    Until

    He was 195 ilvl.
2.3k dps or lower on every boss.
    7% serpent sting uptime.
    Tenacity pet.
    Took harpoon talent.
Necrolord covenant. Never used chakrams once on any fight.

It pains me that most survival hunters probably play like this and submit logs like these on Warcraft logs making the spec look bad.

  3. Raptor Strike is single target, the Bombs is AoE so M+ isn't a great place to compare them directly, but it does speak to how strong Cluster is. You should check the damage on bosses (like the last boss in Mists might make sense). But yes, Injectors are way under tuned and I wouldn't be surprised if it was WFC performs better on Single Target.

You also have to remember in PvP Injectors can be cleansed, so some classes it's useless too. Overall, it needs a buff or it'll never really be used over WFC or the Feign Death one.

  4. Finally a hunting fellow!
I like to use the Cluster Legendary, M+ and Raid. The Dmg is decent around 3,5 dps, even in Raids. I hope more people see, the SV hunter is not dead.
    Keep up the good work!

  5. Cantdrop great video. He is right I think. Been testing poison injectors for a few days in 5's and 6's. One thing I noticed is where the damage comes is way different depending on the first two talents.

So far the most consistent thing for me is 3.2k or so across the dungeon doing Alpha predator, hydras bite, and tip of the spear. My serpent sting dmg is 25% or more. And just as he said latent poison is like 6 to 7%.

The are both viable but I agree the bombs have the advantage.

  6. Also I wanted to add that the damage of the effects seems to be even but WFE matches better with other cooldowns. You can fit 3 bombs in a 10 second window for a big pull. That combined with some of the covenant cooldowns can really add up.

Latent poisons takes more time to build up. So you don't get as much juice when you have 15seconds to squeeze. The bomb legendary allows for the ability to toss the kitchen sink.

Without other cooldowns I think the difference is negligible.

  7. Have you mentioned why you aren't using Embers? I find it is fun to use, and seems to do good damage in both dungeons and my Torgast runs. Did I make a mistake crafting this?
