  1. Ah your video is back up, it went private when I tried commenting.
    So ill say it here…..

I in my ignorance i have just been carving through the swamps with a bronze sword, bronze axe as fall back, and a bronze club for blobs.

Im guessing iv been OK because my relevant stats are around the high 50s except for my club which is new.

The only thing that worries me in swamps are drough with bows.
Two bowmen and a elite and im booking it outta there til I can wear them down.

    Great vid as always.
I hope the devs are noticing who's supporting valhiem on youtube and send you a little thank you

  2. In the case of the frost arrow against the blob, it appeared gray because you used a bow with pierce damage. Frost damage applied by the Frostner maul appears yellow, because it's actually weak to frost. You can even see that despite the number being gray, it was by far the arrow that did most damage. The same thing with the Surtling (although I don't remember if the number is yellow in this case). Probably your test got skewed for every enemy that you tested elemental damage using the bow because all the damage was also a pierce damage. I used the Frostner for a long time hoarding Iron, so I got to see it multiple times. Also yet every wet creature takes double damage from frost, and I think that creatures like the Draugr are considered wet by default. I also think that the color of the damage is only useful for blunt, pierce and slash, it doesn't change for elemental damage because I can't remember a single time when the color changed using elemental damage.

  3. I think turning off "Bloom" in the graphics setting would get rid of a lot of the in-game glare, as I don't really have glare when I play with it turned off.
Would have made a difference more in the Boar Farm vid yesterday, but also when the Surtling was throwing fire in this vid.

  4. the frost arrows on surtlings didnt show up as yellow but their dmg number on the initial hit is about twice the dmg from the other arrows so Id say it is their weakness even tho the numbers dont change color, kinda like bonemass with frost arrows aswell. it might be avisual bug

EDIT: if it is indeed a visual bug a better way of testing would be to get a weapon of each dmg type to have the same base dmg numbers and just doing a basic attack with it and comparing the actual numbers not the colors

  5. idk firespark i know if your ghosted you gain more damage too the attack. likely this is what was causing the upper damage #'s. it may just be a situation in which retest without ghost would show basic number again with the damage values less variant. Just i guess since im not playing this game. YET! lol

  6. Another issue could revolve around your stats depending on the weapons you used. Now this may not come up that much, but if someone never touches blunt weaponry, and uses a sword all the time, then they may actually still do more damage with the sword verses the mace.

  7. Dwarfs are weak to fire sorta, But it varies cause the brutes has a higher resilience to fire. while the sage ones are MASSIVLY weak to fire.

So the weakness thing is sorta right. (You can test it on structures even to see)

It's also notable that Trolls are then proxy weak to fire as well.
I prob if I could program it, but a letter next to the numbers. like P/S/B then lower letters of f/s/c/p for fire silver frost(cold) poison or just icon markers that are color coded and small.
While applying for weakness to strength a grey->white->yellow->red as it would seem that some monsters might be hyper weak vs only slightly weak. Or move it so red is "bad" and remove gray as gray can be a bit too close to white in reading?

btw you can put your arrows in the hotbar to switch types.

For your test full, Lock each monster in a ground cageby lifting the land high, Land takes no damage thus it lets you have less mistaken numbers.

It might also be fun to test weapons against structures and diffrent types of weapons against diffrent foes. (Keep your skill either at 0 or 99 for tests) and use elites for best monster HP.
Seems weapons have hidden archatypes too not just the damage type but their "weapon" group in use. Like Sword, Axe, Spear, Polearm etc.

If you like I can do some tests maybe and do some creative world info and hand it to you on a spread sheet if that be nice?

  8. At 4:53 Frost is normal on the leech frost is not doing ticking dmg (because it seems frost is the only status effect that is an instant DMG) @FireSpark81 (this is why I suggested the DMG type video of multi DMG type weapons like the Porcupine and Frostner etc cause you get some really interesting results like the fact that even tho Porcupine is higher level the Frostner hits Bonemass for more most likely because of the frost component of Frostner)

  9. Hey dude, I like your videos and appreciate the time and effort that goes into them.
That said, I personally think they are a little long compared to the amount of information they actually convey. I don't know whether we need the whole information finding prices in an "informational video". Maybe you could structure them differently, such that the results come first an then additional deeper content for those who want it? I don't know… But IMHO 12 minutes is a lot of time for 6 Datapoints.

  10. Not sure if it was already said, the ooze and surtling didn't show yellow dmg, but they still took increased compared to the others. Like the ooze took 16-30 from the other arrows but 62ish dmg from frost. The surtling took around 24 dmg from all and jumped to 81.4 for the frost.

  11. The problem with the color or the numbers are that only the initial instance (weapon primary damage) shows up for the color. So elemental damage from arrows and frostner is not show as separate damage number, so the color can be deceiving.
