Templar Class Changes Blackwood Update

Check out the latest changes to the Templar class in the Elder Scrolls Online coming in June with Blackwood Chapter release. Deltia breaks down the current changes and gives some gear options that pair well with the Templar mainly focused on tanking in PvE and PvP. Keep in mind, Blackwood is still in testing and subject to change.

  1. I don’t have enough space for the pts so If you have some spare time, could you see if a stamplar with deadly and dagons would be viable?

  2. Still no crowd control. And the sets rewarding standing still makes them even more useless unless it is a boss where you can just stand and block. I really doubt templars will be in the meta for trials groups next expac. Nice coverage of these changes though.

  3. If this went live it will all get nurfed on the following patch to when it when live as that seems to be the patten of what zos does get people to play the game then they nurf what everyone will farm and get.

  5. The monster set won't work on open pvp , maybe BG but still it won't be useful. What I mean is that in cyrodill you can just hit from far away or just move so he has to move and lose all the stacks, it will be boring just standing also they may use a skill to move him as well like chains or even one that stuns him back.

  6. one it doesnt move with you- so that change is pretty well worthless..2 the cost is WAY to high for the shields on a tank- its a step in the right direction- but FAR from great… I do like how excited you are though ><

  7. Really looking forward to these changes. Have been templar tanking for a year now and it worked okay in normal trials and vet dlc dungeons, but hard mode dungeons it struggled a bit. This will give it the extra oomph it needs. Thanks for the heads up Deltia 👍🏾

  8. I can see these changes being good for PvP but not for PvE, upper end Meta tanks for PvE will still be Warden, DK the group buffs the Templar offer are low since most groups run a Warden healer and Templar healer already. Templar healers run RO/JO and apply Power of the Light already, the Templar Tank kit is pretty selfish. The Nerco tank is good for like Mini tanking in vCR+ runs and with the Saxheel set the trial groups are actually putting the set on a Necro support so they can drop two ults, the COlO + 5 piece Proc from Saxheel. Although yes there are skills to make the Saxheel 5 piece Proc more often it would be out of sync if a support was just dropping whenever they got Ulti ready. Templars were once king of Heals/PvP tanking but Wardens are so much more powerful now its a same. I have a feeling Saxheel set will be nerfed to like 15-17 secs of Major Force, but we will see. Keep it up Delt!!

  9. What I would like to see…have a necro PvP healer and feeling that with it currently needing super high health to survive the inevit det meta, the subsequent lower magic pool, and the lower opportunity for crit heals, that templar is just going to smash it out of the patch next update when passives are nerfed. Do you see any way around the nerf to make a crit necro healer viable/competitive? It has so much to offer a group in terms of synergies etc, but support PvP gets old pretty fast.
