I too completed this grub search but I never went back to grub home. I had no idea that this was in the game. Team cherry did such an amazing job on hollow knight. I believe it is one of the very best games ever made. Can't wait for silk song

This is not a sad thing, the grubs are about to become grubflys, something that (if the charm is any clue) looks suspiciously like the Worm.
A secret, hidden picture called the ventruvian grub lends more credence to these grubs becoming Higher Biengs.
