Standing on the High Water Bridge at Paul Kruger Gate we witness this amazing behaviour from the African Harrier Hawk or also called “Gymnogene”.
This is truly a remarkable bird due to its ability to hunt for food mostly live prey while hanging upside down an breaking open small crevasses in tree trunks to reach its food.
The face also changes colour from yellow to red when the bird is mating.
This was an amazing scene to watch but when played in slow motion its incredible as I did not know it can make this type of display when threatened.

Whoa, that was a protective display to protect himself!
Thanks for the cool video. Something that I haven't seen before 👍
What a beautiful hawk
Brilliant stuff.
I've never seen anything like it, these images are fantastic, thank you so much for sharing.
I like his head too much, it is magnificent💞. It reminds me of another raptor, I'm not a connoisseur, but I appreciate it.
Thank you for the video👍
That display of size didn’t sway those kingfishers. Thanks so very much for posting this video.
ini burung apa bos ku besar sekali
Amazing sighting! Your camera is very good, or the sighting was very close, or perhaps both! I like so much the slow motion when woodland kingfisher arrives👏👏👏
Sweet ❤
