Valheim on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/892970/Valheim/

This came from my stream on February 15th, 2021. Watch live next time: https://store.steampowered.com/app/892970/Valheim/

RimWorld was honestly a little above my pay grade so itโ€™s time to revisit this monthโ€™s new hotness: VALHEIM. I wasnโ€™t super into it in single-player but the multiplayer is the extra spice I needed so I can just punch trees while some big brains handle the high level progress. Check it out!

  1. As for camera-rescale-icity, it's not the fact that it records at 4k, its the streaming/cam software you use to scale it down.
You want bilinear downscaling, not linear pixel-perfect scaling.
Its the same as if you think about Photoshop, downsizing images.
if you take a 4k image and downsize it to 800×600, you must use a bilinear'ish filter to soften the output to eliminate noise.

You can 100% run your camera at 4k natively, just make sure you're downscaling it properly in OBS/Streamlabs.
It's still worth running at 4k because you get better pixel-per-pixel accurate detail.
Buying a 4k camera and running it at 1080p is a waste.
Sure it produces better images anyway due to the sensor, but if you just scale it properly, 4k to 1080p looks better than 1080p native.

  2. Is he done playing Spelunky 2?

I don't follow every single one of NLs videos, although I've been watching a few other series. But I looked at something like the last 30 videos or something and saw no spelunky. What's up with that?

  3. To answer Sips question on baby swimming lessons: the hardest part about learning how to swim is learning to be comfortable with/not scared of the water, and learning how to float. If you start learning to swim as a baby, you essentially skip both of these parts, because babies don't have the same consept of danger, and they also instinctively know how to float, and float more easily because of their high fat levels. In short: learning to swim as a baby is extremely helpful.

  4. Didn't think I'd get into this series, since I'm not really interested in survival games, but listening to NL, MALF and Sips banter while NL runs around shooting deer and cutting down trees is very relaxing. First thing I watch when I open up the subs.

  5. Whenever I hear about the housing market in Canada I feel like crying. When i lived in Surrey I was looking for apartments in Richmond, like a 1 bed for over 1k a month. In Germany right now you can buy an apartment building with 5 apartments for like 350k, make rent off 4 apartments and keep one for yourself. On top of that, you're looking at sub 1% interest.

  6. I'm sorry, but when you only discover and start to mine a copper vein in the last 30 seconds of the video and then title it "the Age of Copper has Dawned", that's pretty click baity… lol

  7. Parenting: What to Expect in the First Year is nice because it's easy to get in a rut with your baby routine and not realize you're supposed to start sitting them up or whatever.

  8. Since sips and malf have been playing more Tarkov, I'd LOVE to see this trip play Hunt: Showdown which has many of the same elements but slightly faster pacing and is more beginner friendly since there isn't so much to learn. The game has changed a LOT since NL played with Mathas a few years back.
