  16. Yoru is a time traveler my theory is he is here for his Japanese Armour and I think the armour is really close to him maybe connected to his soul

    Edit: Maybe yoru came earlier for a fight in icebox and his armour might has been taken if I'm wron sorry 😀

  27. The broken glass in icebox A site is probably caused by Yoru's ult. Cuz when you look at the mask Yoru grabs from the void in his ultimate it's kinda identical to the mask that was used to be part of the samurai armour inside the glass chamber. So Yoru could be "stealing" the protected mask from Icebox when he uses his ult.

  30. Just wanted to point out that during the entirety of episode 2 there will be 3 new agents, this being Yoru, blank and blank. Maybe the two sitting in the tower are the new agents. Although there’s not much we can say about the figures just because they are so plain and undetailed.

  37. Zakky, when you go into The Range, you can use Yoru's Ult and jump into the void and you wont die, when I went down there I saw the Atlas plane and an extra island near the Spike Plant and Defuse Island.

  39. I have one thing to point out. In EP2 Didn't Phoenix ask Yoru if he knew ice box and he said he did. Can that have any relationship to where he is from and his storyline cause not only does he says he knows the area but his "allegedly" armor was there not to mention that that's where he came out of for the new Season

  40. so the japanese ship was shipwrecked in russia, and then these samurai armour found and researched upon..?
    it seems like yoru (whose name literally means night in japanese) is from ancient japan (though, his abilities aren't really reminiscent of traditional mythology)
    map-wise it makes sense that there'd be one map for each country (?) or agent, so split would be yoru's map.
    if yoru's abilities are dimension-ripping ones, it'd make sense for him to be able to travel from ancient japan to the present world.
    in my opinion, the kanji used are more for a 'wow this looks so japanese' effect rather than having actual meaning, because their meanings don't really add much anyways.
    the oni mask is just a very symbolic thing in shinto mythos, i really don't think yoru himself is an oni, but definitely a radiant like phoenix and jett based on his powers, and the fact that he's got some sort of blue flame thing going on.

    sova and yoru are potentially connected- icebox is sova's map, in the russian tundra. samurai armour is scattered in the map, and the shipwreck, the ship itself seen on yoru's card. perhaps yoru was a regular human on a boat that crashed in russian waters in the past, was ripped through spacetime into the future, where he gains the dimension ripping abilities that he has..? japan and russia are pretty close (location wise) after all.
    it seems like riot wants to pair up some of the agents based on backstories that we don't know about. sage & omen, phoenix & jett, and killjoy & raze who seem to know each other well.

    perhaps the reason some of icebox is all whack and destroyed is in part due to yoru's abilities, when he got bonked into the future.
    these are just my thoughts as a japanese writer and mythology "expert".

    valorant might not stick to traditional views of oni & japanese mythology so i could be mistaken. but in any case, it's really interesting to think about.

  41. Can anyone explains if yoru is from edo period why he is looking for his ancestor , i always play with yoru and whenever i tackle with samurai armour he speak as " i have to find my ancestor soon" why ?
