  3. TL;DR: I answer why smurfs are such a problem, why the honor system doesn't work, why league has an ego problem and what causes it, and why what riot is doing doesn't help anything.

    The reason smurfs are such a problem is because Riot charges money for cosmetics and not the game. Not having to pay for the game means that people who get permanently banned have absolutely no repercussions to their actions. The only thing someone could lose money on by making a new account would be losing cosmetics, which is not substantial enough to merit avoiding a ban for the majority of players. This was reinforced by the introduction of the loot system which gives free cosmetics and strengthens the mentality that you don't actually lose anything from getting banned. Ever notice that players suddenly got a lot more toxic and unafraid of being punished since the loot system was released? I have.

    This on top of the absolutely soulless, abhorrently nonfunctional and unjust honor and reporting system means that some of the worst, most toxic and damaging players in the game are being REWARDED by riot to keep playing and further making everyone else's games a living hell for their own sick satisfaction, while other non-toxic, friendly, and supportive players are being banned and having rewards restricted because the reporting system automatically weighs the 4 reports that the premade you just solo queued into in normals as more valuable than your 4 reports to the other players, so you can get bullied and harassed for an hour straight and then YOU get banned for it.

    As for ego, you have to ask: what causes an ego problem? The answer may be hard to see at first but it is actually caused by insecurity. When someone has security issues and feels insecure about themselves, they don't internalize the feeling, they instead push it onto others, claiming that the other person is actually the one who has all of these negative traits, rather than owning it themselves. This is called "Projecting", and I personally see it roughly once every 3 games or so, even less while playing ranked. The problem with projecting though, is that not only does it make the insecure persons problems worse by validating their toxic behavior to themselves and convincing them that they've done nothing wrong, thus encouraging them to do it more frequently, but it also causes other players, especially new players who legitimately have no idea what they're doing, to feel INSECURE about themselves, and what comes along with insecurity? more projection. Thus it causes a viscous cycle where the more toxic and insecure a playerbase is, the faster the non-insecure portion of the playerbase gets converted to being insecure and toxic.

    Lastly, how does riot handle this situation? They don't. They rely on a broken system to give them misleading results, which they interpret as progress, completely blind to the fact that they are fueling the burning wildfire that is their community and they're doing absolutely nothing about it. Riot games doesn't care. The people who work there barely even do their job. I've considered applying for a position at riot in the past and so I did some research on it and I am not joking when I say there are people who work at riot who get paid to just sit at their desk and play league of legends without actually contributing anything to the company. Riot employees care so little about their game, that I talked to a rioter in game once about the matchmaking system and they asked me "oh yeah, so what would you do to fix it then?", and after I spent a good minute telling him exactly how I would do it, given that I had just finished a college level statistics class and had the information fresh in my mind, he completely ignored my response, and then flamed me and muted me for not following my laners TP that got him killed while I was typing to him.

  9. I will die on this hill, League of Legends Ranked isn't based on skill to a certain point, it's based on luck with teammates.

    When I did research on my ranked games, at the time out of 42 matches, 30 were a Defeat. Out of those 30 losses only 4 of those were actually my fault due to mental or other things. Out of those 4 games my fault, 3 of them were autofilled into support or jungle… Almost 90% of my matches at least 2 roles hard feed and/or at least 1 person leaves the game (which is almost always top leaving). Like literally I'm hard stuck in garbage ass Shiny Bronze (gold), because of other people. I rotate, I always ping the situation, I farm well at the beginning (because later in the game dumbasses just want to keep fighting), I get good vision in specific spots to help my team. I 1-trick Corki so I try to always have package for objectives but everyone is retarded and never goes in when I package. There have been several times I have gotten a solo Triple/Quad even Pentas and got the objective with package because no one wants to fucking help.

    At the beginning of this year I started ranked. At 30 matches I had a 70% winrate and was Gold 1 and I took a break for a month or so. I am now over 200 matches Gold 3. I just keep getting feeders and/or leavers in almost EVERY match, it's just ridiculous at this point.

  10. I think another reason why Solo Queue sucks so much is because there's not much in the way of alternative modes. Twisted Treeline and Dominion were underplayed but also wildly underdeveloped. Riot never seemed to give the effort to actually make them great, and just dumpstered them when it got to be too much work.

  20. This is why I enjoy shooters like Halo and Titanfall 2. My impact on the score board is always on me. Win or lose, that score is mine. I can never be put into a situation where my teammates made the enemy unbeatable to me.

  22. My friend and I have a theory about the games that you cant sin. We think that, if you have a good winstreak riot will queue with bots to loose. Creating an endless cycle of you PLAYING the game
