Quite possible, as they enabled mining too, prices rise substantially. Additionally, they could have cancelled the purchases but they didn’t, as they got them sold. But then, more importantly, CDPR is loosing its reputation in the market, why would they delay optimisation for that?
The shortage of RTX3xxx series GPUs is probably more to do with Crypto mining what with the spike in Bitcoin recently. Frankly I have yet to see a positive effect of Bitcoin. IT seems worthless at a fundamental level, and just creates negative externalities such as its huge energy consumption (and thus emissions impact) and now you can't even get a new graphics card because of it.
Well I can confirm a RTX 3070 runs this game much smoother compared to my older GTX 1080ti in Ultra 2k settings. Yes I also enabled RTX which still gives me a stable 50 FPS compared to a 30-40 FPS with a GTX 1080ti on Ultra only. Now I also own the game for my PS4 Pro and holy I can't play it on that platform, the graphics are really downgraded to a point I can't really enjoy it, also constant low FPS makes me sick. I really like the game and finished it after hundreds of hours and now I play my second playthrough. It just saddens me how they didn't seemed to care how the old GEN tech will fare. Honestly whoever decided this to relase on the Older Gen should get fired.
The enemy Ai. On PC must actually exist bcuz I cannot get any enjoyment from this game on console. I didn't return it but I'm waiting for at least a year to do a full playthrough. I'm hoping they will program some kind of enemy AI by then…
