I love how trott is really into building roads.
not to flex completely, but I was able to single the Elder in my playthrough without trenches, although I did not have the handicap of Sips with me.

You have now done as much as I've seen (mostly from Kaif and his group). Congrats guys! Definitely make sure, next time you play, to get both a furnace and smeltery up at your home base. I've never played the game, but I'm sure you guys will feel like a well-oiled machine if you do.

Haven't seen anyone to overthink the Elder fight that much yet, you don't need tunnels to evade him, the columns give the cover from the bees and you can just run away from the roots.
Pretty neat seed you got though, don't need to search the whole map to find a swamp with dungeons.
Edit: i know this is kinda redundant comment since knowing their upload rate, they've most probably stopped playing the game over a month ago already by loosing interest by sips whining 90% of the time.

Nice … but what the smeg is this crab-hole and campfires cheese tactic?? When he shoots his vines you just put one of those giant pillars between him and you. When he summons the patch of roots, you just walk away from them ¬_¬

Elder is pretty easy compared to the next boss tbh.
During boss prep, Trott: "Then, I can build a road".
Unfortunately the others didn't seem to notice. They really need to notice and take these early signs seriously and try to stop Trott's descent into road madness.
Trust me it can only end badly if they do not. My uncle suffered from it and we didn't pick up on the early signs.
Then one day, he went outside to walk the dog and when he came back he had built the Autobahn, and he doesn't even live in Germany.
No one ever saw that dog again either, but that is another, oddly enough entirely unrelated, story.
