  3. I have a very heavily modded Skyrim on SX, 37 graphical texture mods, plus Character and npc beautification mods and overhauls. After extensive stress test with the Uncap FPS mod on i had no lags, freezes or crashes anywhere, that said didn’t have problems without the fps mod either. time to disable the Uncap fps mod and try out the fps boost. I guess I’ll find out if it’s better than the mod.

  4. I can't wait for Digital Foundry's test on these, especially the Fallout 4 tests.

I personally never mod my games, so performance on that front is no issue for me. I'll definitely play Skyrim with FPS BOOST, as there shouldn't be any drawbacks.

Fallout 4 is another story though… I've seen a few reports saying that the 1080p res for both F4 and F76 is actually a bug, but I've seen no concrege evidence to support that claim.

My guess is the team wanted a rock-solid 60fps, and considering Fallout 4 supports mods AND has the whole town building system that can result in very busy towns ie performance drops, my guess is they thought dropping it to 1080p was the safest bet to keep a steady 60fps under such circumstances, but for someone like me who doesn't mod at all thats kind of a bummer 🙁

My TV is also set to support VRR with a future update, so if that comes around fairly soon, I might just go back to the 60fps mod that keeps 4K resolution and I'll just have to deal with frequent drops in busier areas but with VRR that won't be as noticeable as without.

  5. A lot of those lag spike you have probably has to do with your load order, certain mods are supposed to be loaded first, last and size etc depending on the type. My load order is somewhat optimized and it's mostly smooth with drops probably in the low 50fps range with 4.8gb of mods. The game really does look amazing with the right mods on.
