The Full Story of Resident Evil 6 – Before You Play Resident Evil: Village

Resident Evil’s story may have started out as fairly simple and straightforward two and a half decades ago, but as time has gone on, it’s become more and more convoluted. With Resident Evil 6, the series touched never-before-seen heights of ridiculousness and nonsense insanity. Though it tried to raise the stakes higher than ever with a globe trotting story and four separate campaigns focusing on different characters who would often cross paths with each other, it escalated things a bit too much, and the only thing it ended up doing was tell a confusing, muddled tale.

Either way, over the last few weeks and months, we have been going through the franchise bit by bit as we recount its entire story, and now, it’s time for Resident Evil 6. So here, we’re going to go over its full story, from beginning to end. Buckle up- this’ll be a bumpy one.

  2. Story was a mess, but compared to games from 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, RE6 is looking like a smash hit crazy big value for the money game of the year masterpiece edition. Did RE6 have any bugs? no. It was 4 FINISHED campaigns at launch with mercenaries mode. Then they did free DLC with 4 vs modes. Compared to Fallout 76, Anthem and Cyberpunk…even Capcoms failures are GOLD. Capcom are GODS. On the same level as Valve and Rockstar IMO

  3. The biggest mystery about the new Improved series of res games… how the hell are they gonna tie in re1-6 at some point? and how stupid will it end up being?

  4. The comments is literally people fighting or defending this game lol. Personally speaking, I always give the RE games a chance and it was fun. But regardless, it still was RE at it's lowest in terms of gameplay and story, not because of anything bad(well it's technically a mess) but it just didn't have that resident evil style from RE 1-4. RE 5 had a similar issue but not to this extent; and at least it had some funny memes and a conclusive chapter in the series as a whole. I still enjoy this "Ultimate Campaign" game though for the good moments it did offer.

Not trying to say that RE 1-4 are perfect narrative-driven survival horror games, nor am I trying to be somebody blinded by nostalgia. It's just that RE 6 just went too far beyond saving. As a action-packd third person shooter player, I find this game to be amazing. And as a RE player, this is the worst so far.

At the very least, this game made RE 7 look god tier as it brought back that RE style and not the overloaded action-pack shooter game from before. Thank you again GamingBolt for attempting to explain this fun yet messy game we all experienced.

  5. Sure that that 6 is a mess but its the game that made me a fan of residentevil when iwas 9 lol. Okay so how would you explain that re7 is good and unnecessary trapped you inside a house the whole game? Trash right the only thing youve loved is youre being jumpscared and in 1st person then play fnaf lol. Glad they made re8 because re7 wasn't interesting enough. Wouldve been cooler if Ethan got killed right in there. Looking forward on playing Zoe on re9 with Ethan being the BOW
