  1. I like the whole flickering light thing here. It's not just a gamey thing here. In this context it's like "we're trying to show you where to go but also it's a classic haunting cuz there's ghosts."

Also, I noticed that there's a content warning at the start of the game that mentions that it would be covering some sensitive topics and try to handle them respectfully. And I think it mentioned that they had some consultants on the game.

  3. Would be interesting to see you guys finish the last part, and your comments on things from the "Abuser"'s perspective. I always wondered like, how did this kinda behavior get "carried down"?
not meaning that in a genetic way ofc, Richard did what his stepfather did. But why? Because he saw what he did and that was his interpretation of how women should be handled? Or bc, "I wanna protect the women in my life I care about", I failed my mom… So why is this sexual assault behavior mimicked by seeming "sympathetic" & sensitive individuals like Richard? He didnt seem exactly sociopathic, but more, mentally afflicted (doesnt mean his behavior is justified), just shows he is a human being, that needs help more than to be punished/killed off.

I actually recently discovered an old friend who I was very close with, nice sweet guy, assaulted someone. And he showed remorse at first but… idk there has been something insincere and off about him. I am just… baffled and confused, what made him… what snapped inside him to go do that to someone?

Anw, Feels like Halloween in Jan-February xD
Are you guys gonna play Little Hope soon? (The Until Dawn, Man of medan continutation series)

  4. CULTURAL NOTES, pls read!
    (cw: war, death, n*zis)

18:28 MILICJA – police: this is the equivalent of “police line do not cross, crime scene.” The Echo “statement” just moments later confirms this.
2:21:17 VIRTUTI MILITARI – a mix between several real-life military crosses: in 1941 the Virtuti Militari (text you can read on the in-game medal) was introduced by the Polish Govt in Exile as the highest military decoration of the Polish Army in exile. The eagle is from the Polish coat of arms (1956-1990). Its international equivalents are the US Medal of Honor, and the British Commonwealth Victoria Cross.

Other: Tadeusz Pełczyński was the major general of the Warsaw Uprising. He received many Decorations (war medals), including the aforementioned Virtuti Militari, twice. He may be the person Richard’s dad is named after, though the real Tadeusz was captured as a POW during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, and released in 1945.
The Warsaw Uprising was a terrible loss of life, with mass civilian executions by the Nazis numbering between 150,000 and 200,000. By 1945, over 85% of the city had been destroyed.

  5. y’all’s conversation about media favoring the POV of the abuser/killer/aggressor was super interesting. i think to Mari’s point about LiS building up the story so you don’t sympathize with Jefferson, on the flip side there’s a show like You, where we also aren’t supposed to like Joe but because it’s through his POV that part is lost on a lot of viewers (and he’s conventionally attractive which…you know, a strong jawline make the coochie go woowoo). i think Stacy’s right that experiencing a story through the predator vs the victim might be more…engaging? less depressing? but there’s a gap where a lot of producers of media are like “okay since this is the character we’re experiencing the story through, they have to have moments where they viewer sympathizes/connects with them” but … no we don’t. the vile character can just be vile and hated

  6. Just a piece of useless trivia: this hotel is based on a hotel that actually exists in Cracow, Poland and has been out of use for quite some time now. It was built in the 60s and back then was one of the most luxurious hotels in Poland, now it's a ruin in the middle of the city. You can google "hotel cracovia" to see some pictures!
