The Medium Ray Tracing Benchmarked | RX 6000 Series and RTX 30 Series

The Medium is in full force, and we’re seeing how the modern cards from both NVIDIA and AMD handle this game and its ray tracing effects. The Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080, RTX 3090, and RTX 2080 Ti all tested with and without ray tracing enabled.

  1. The hype that people had for amd ray tracing is tragic. Just 2 years ago. Amd was saying graphics cards arn't fast enough to deliver good ray tracing. Correction. Their graphics cards. Well they launched. Moore's law is dead. Comments are comical. They are as good almost to turing. The bad nvidia generation. Amd is still winning with general smoothness and more ram though. Even though. Gamers seam to think we have enough. Time and time again. Over the last decade. We don't need that much memory on our gpu's. Eye rolling. I'll be honest. The biggest thing holding me back from getting a amd card. Was its lack of ray tracing.
As things go forward. Its ray tracing for now on. Nvidia did most of the work for them. We wouldn't have ray tracing with the vulkan api without nvidia's help.

  2. Cool Video, The RTX is way too performance intensive and the RTX effects are sometimes too bright or simply too distracting so i turned em off, and played it on 6k locked at 50hz never saw a dip using dlss low with using nearly 11gig of vram almost maxed out, the pixel density is better with this cuda rendering thing

  3. While I am impressed with AMDs rasterization… They suck at Ray tracing. Sorry don't come at me with but AMD DLSS will come… Sure that will help but they lack RT and Tensor cores. So it will not be a significant increase. Plus Nvidia has DLSS 3.0 coming…. They are holding it back to respond. That all said I am stuck with a Rtx2080… and will be for another few years… just gonna skip this gen.

  4. ah….. it runs like crap on my RTX 2060 laptop. 15-30fps with RT and DLSS on in 1080p . Feels like a forgettable game.
May the the name itself is the clue – run the game in "The Medium" Settings. 😉

  5. Theres really some kind of bottleneck on this game im not sure what. When its dual reality no matter what graphics settings, 1080p or 1440p, dlss on or off – the fps is the same at 100% gpu usage, with really low gpu watt consumption. Its not cpu bound like what you said in the video, none of the cores is hitting 100% but the gpu is 100% usage.

  6. Great job on balanced reporting. Where's @Hardware Unboxed / TechSpot's Medium Reviews (separated benchmarks with DLSS off)…they won't do it because it makes AMD look bad at RayTracing…because it isn't a mature gaming feature yet! Lol jk 🙂
