  1. When I saw the preview, I was excited. The duel perception mechanic looked new and interesting and I'll admit it reminded me of the concept of Astral Perception in the Shadowrun world. When it came out I cautiously watched some reviews. They were either mediocre or bad so I decided not to buy it but to watch a playthrough (I watched Eurogamer's). It looked tedious. The mechanics seemed to intentially slow the pace of the game and the story just drags on. The later parts of the game seem to be all other people with very little action or input from Marianne so all the building up empathy with her in the beginning is wasted until the end. I really liked her too. She had a cool style and was kind of darkly mysterious and I was looking forward to spending the game with her. And then as we spend all out time with Tom, Dick, and Harry all that investment matters less and less. What I recall of her moments were more walking when you wish you could run and more flesh doors that use the same long razor cutting cutscene which never gets faster or skippable. Then after all that the ending is a big disappointment.

All in all I am glad I didn't preorder this game. I think the creators were either over impressed with their story or they thought by dragging things out they were adding drama or tension. But whatever they were trying just didn't work.
