The Most Broken (And Useless) Items In League of Legends History

For today’s video I thought about talking about a history of item design in League of Legends, talking about why items were removed in the past, and whether or not removing them was a good idea.

  1. mages still feel like trash you can´t stop a fed ad champ at all. ad assasines just one shot you and bruiser and adc heal and become drain tanks. They should take out a lot of dmg and nerf lifesteal by alot

  2. To defend Pokemon here for a bit, there is very good reason for them to start excluding Pokemon. There are currently 898 Pokemon if we include regional variants. Consider how hard it is to port over every existing Pokemon on top of all ~100 new Pokemon every single generation. Sometimes it's easy, if you're using the same engine, but Sword and Shield was a new engine on a new system. That means they would have to create new models for the Pokemon and animations for all of their moves on a massive deadline, because Game Freak aren't ever getting extensions, they have to get out new games in line with the anime otherwise important people get very upset. They're coming to a point where they physically can't reasonably port over every Pokemon, not in one set of games anyway. Sword and Shield ALREADY has a lot of issues, and none of those would be helped by them needing to port over so many more Pokemon. So respectfully, no, there is good reason for them to leave out a ton of Pokemon.

  3. Magic pen item against shields don't even help fighting shields.
Maw, sterak, shieldbow activate under 1k hp threshold, while stoneplate give way too much mr(with other items too) for pen to be worth using.

Even then you get increased pen from 10 to 20, so only 10 at most. Any squishy target, specially below 18 lvl have under 2500hp.

  4. Honestly the new AP item shadowflame that is supposed to counter shields isn't great for dealing with its intended purpose. It mostly just makes you burst squishier targets faster because of the flat magic pen but unlike serpents fang which actually negates some of the shielding which is super useful for champs like tahm who basically get an entire second HP's bar worth of shields or the massive shield from steraks it doesn't actually deal with them all that well. Side note gunblade is the item i miss the most i don't see why they had to remove it

  5. brutalizer is literally serated dirk, frozen mallet is seryldas grudge, ADCs had grievious wounds in season 9 too, it was mortal reminder and lord doms in one, spear of shojin's idea got put into navori quickblades but its a pricey item. hullbreaker suffices as a splitpush item

  6. imo as a 9 year player now, i loved season 11 but at the same time it kinda killed 4fun builds, like it seems as each champion only has 2 or 3 mythic options, and the mythic themselfs kinda limits where your build is going. With some changes tho the mythic system could be way more fun, for example, with no mythic passive and more legendaries with meaningful passives and stuff i think it'd be better

  7. I miss hextech gunblade, riftmake is just a bargain bin version. And only cause apparently, riot wanted to remove hybrid items… IT ONLY WORKED FOR AP CHAMPIONS MOSTLY AND WOULD'VE BEEN GREAT FOR AP BRUISERS NOW! That and it did hybrid damage…. BECAUSE THEY'RE ARE HYBRID CHAMPIONS! Especially…. Yone… So they can't even with that logic!

  8. I really want you to talk more about riot trying to balance the game for pros rather than us the other 99% of players. Like you said they removed trackers because of pros, i miss trackers cuz i Mained lee for a long long time and having that removed basically kicked me off the champ because I felt very limited in my plays. I couldn't always wardhop, i had to flash kick or hope i could flank effectively. I miss sight stone too, that was like my first item as a support because it was so cheap and provided flat heath, arguably the best stat early game.

  9. Ohmwrecker literally needed just stat change. Its active was great purely for splitpushers, who had advantage in lane, but was giving stats of a tank, rather than bruiser/assasin which could actually make use of such item. Make it give ad instead of armor and boom, item fixed.

  10. I was that a-hole that would use zz'rot and banner of command on Singed back then, it was so much fun to just piss off people with that bullshit lmao now I don't even play the game

  11. As much as many people are complaining about the removed items. I always believe in Riot's decision. It proves how the game is still running strong after 10 years.
