After punisher part 6 I don't even want to look at this gun
The 762x54R is a crazy ammo, but even with the max built SVD is hard af to use
I use stock SVD as a semi-auto Mosin. If you dont spam shots – thing is incredible. PS ammo makes it one tap most of the time. Great value for the money.

I finished punisher 6 a few days ago, and now setup+silent caliber is kicking my ass. Finding it really tough to shotgun people, even with flechette.
my only problem with svd is that those 20 round mags cost too much
Had the exact same experience with Punisher Pt. 6. Kept getting clapped on Shoreline, then switched to Woods and a less aggressive playstyle and it went very smoothly.

I'm waiting for them to release an OG Dragunov, using the SVDS default with a pso makes the gun feel like it's intended to be in tarkov, hard hitting and reliable.
I did punisher 6 with the beat up scav rifle, all 60 or lower, not one malfunction and never noticed any problems with accuracy.
Love the SVD, its kinda expencive this wipe, to buy upfront, but it can make up for it in ammo prices (SNB is about half the price of M61 and PS is about 370ish roubles cheaper than M62) but if your a bushwookie or a mountain goat that loves to sit back and shoot from a distance, give this gun a shot.
My svd build is pso1 and hybrid silencer it has -9000 ergo and I love it.
It feels like a real gun if you run it loud. I can't do it with the suppressor. Too long and clunky.

If you learn to pace your shots right, this gun can be a monster at close range and from afar. Easily my favourite gun this wipe

I don't know, just not my gun… I adore it on Factory but since that isn't an option for Punisher Part 6 anymore, I just never see the reason not to use a AR-10 platform. And my playstyle is also slow so I'm not constantly on that high octane gameplay xD. And yes, the SVD shoots a beefier round but yet again I've had a more pleasant and effective experience shooting .308 at people rather than 54R for some reason. I would absolutely love if they would add the wooden old school attachments for that classic Dragunov look though :). If they made the gun somehow cheaper, like 60-70k max on Prapor it would probably see much more use and be more viable. And yet again there would be a balance of people using AR-10 platforms and the SVD platform(ouh and a cool addition to the game would be a SVU 🙂 )

Does the bug still exist that the angled sight essentially ignores ergonomics for its ADS speed? I know some people hate the lack of FOV with the gun blocking your lower left corner of the screen, but given the ergo, could be a valuable option?
Never had an issue with SVD's, PSO, or OKP-7 Dovetail for the inside Close version and she's good to go.

A gun that on paper should clap anyone in two shots but always seems to hit only arms and take like 5 plus hits to kill. Why do arms stop bullets anyways? I really wanna like it but it always lets me down.

I just save SVDs from Scav runs over time. Go naked with 10 rnd magazines and camp a choke point. Broken SVDs come back in insurance a lot.

If you don't have mechanic ll4:
-switch out the foregrip for the MVF001, wich gives 10 ergo but no recoil
-switch out the SI advanced for the mesa tactical or the hk enhanced, depending if you want more ergo or less recoil
You get 109 recoil and 25 ergo with the mesa
I really enjoy the fact you can play a supressed SVD with decent ergo now.
For that you have to give up comparable recoil stats to most other DMRs, but the more accecible high tier ammo makes up for it.
