The Rats' S-F Weapon Tier List | Escape From Tarkov

If a weapon isn’t on the list, its likely due to the fact that I see it as a chad weapon that is too expensive to be considered a rat weapon.

  1. I'm going to clarify that this list is based entirely on personal experience and my opinion. There was very minimal price checking and actual research done to do this ranking. If you find a weapon that you prefer to use and are happy with its price, then by all means use that.

  2. one thing to note regarding the shrimp. It only has one ammo type in the game, and it punches clean through lvl while consistently 3 tapping to the chest on top of a high fracture and bleed chance. Thing is nasty. Downside is its got bad sightes, higher recoil than the 5.7, and the gun+ammo can get pricy.

  3. I disagree with the MP-9N, it's actually at least for me the go to SMG for Rat Loadouts, yes it burns through ammo very quickly, but you can craft the AP Ammo yourself with workbench 2, for about 300 Rubels per shot (you can go even cheaper if you have Peacekeeper Level 2 + Spa Day Part 2 completed, just buy the M67 Grenades for 67$ and craft the green gunpowder by yourself instead of buying it, then craft the Red Gunpowder by one green, one blue and classic matches). The MP-9N is the poor man's Vector 🙂

  4. Good list, agree on most stuff. But the AK-74 belongs here too. There are many cheap ways to get it and bt ammo is easily found. With the rubber but pad it has controlable recoil.

  5. I knew Tarkov was lucrative in its meta weapons and customization, but judging by the comments its even more lucrative with budget builds, efficient tactics, and market trading. This is a game by rats, for rats.

  6. I'm not really a close quarters player, but not gonna lie, I actually find the Saiga-9 to be a quite fun weapon to use, simply because it's super high ergo and basically no recoil makes it really really easy to shoot with, just a shame it can't actually kill anything more geared than a Ratata haha

  7. The M9 and PM are absolutely insane, I have no idea what you are talking about. I completed the stirrup quest in big red with the M9 and 3 mags in one raid, they kept coming and I kept shooting. They all had armor and decently kitted AKs. My friend would rat on Factory with the PM and he turned half a million rouble profit multiple times off of PMCs

  8. Don't know why you said the VPO-136 is more expensive than the SKS. The base price on flea market is the same as the SKS (around 15k), except the SKS' 20 rounders are 7k each and the 35 rounders are 22k each. Meanwhile 30 round AKM mags are only 2k a pop. And if you're so poor you don't want to bring a rig then you can use the 10-round AKM mags that fit in your pocket and those are less than 500 roubles a mag and reload so much faster than single loading an SKS. They also have the benefit of being able to take the millions of AK attachments you'll find in raid.

Vepr KM/VPO-136 deserved to be higher IMO

  10. One thing on shotguns, 6.5 express buckshot is amazing. Cheeky long range head-shots, all you need is one pellet.
Available early too, low recoil so it works wonders with 153, can go leg meta, doesn't wreck armor anywhere near as bad as flechettes either it seems (probably arms meta?).
The only good thing about magnum buckshot is the bleed chance, but the drawbacks are just too big to make it worth using on a 153 or even a saiga12. Express for 153, flechette for saiga.
'been playing around with the pump actions recently, but yeah they are a huge let down. The only good thing is short length and high ergo means they're easier to use than the 153, especially CQB, and unlike the saiga 12 you don't need a 2+ slot mag (and let's face it, 5 rounders on saiga 12 are garbage).
TOZ though, is amazing because it always comes back, you can go for cheeky headshots, and you don't have the cursed status applied. I did my first 15 levels on TOZs only this wipe, and I regret nothing.
